Live cash in Amsterdam? Live cash in Amsterdam?

Looking for a place to play for 2-3 weeks in Europe starting mid January.
This guy I met at a random game highly recommended Holland Casino in Amsterdam. I've never been.
Some googling said the rake at the low stakes is 10%, is the real? I've never seen such high rake.

Would love to hear your thought of Amsterdam in general for live cash (1/3 and 2/5).
Also, any other recommendations for a couple weeks grind?

10% is normal here in US but the max rake is important. 10% max $5 is very different from 10% max $25 or worse no max.

Far from an expert esp since been fair bit since I played there, but rake in Europe is higher than US. Of course tipping is different there so that is a minor partial offset.

Never played at Casino Holland, actually never played in Holland, but I seem to recall a discussion somewhere that stated the rake there was particularly high.

IIRC, rake in Holland casinos is 5% capped at 25€. I haven't played at the Amsterdam location in over 10 years, but in the past they all had the same rake.

1/2 or 2/2 had a lower cap but I can't remember what it was.

I've played in Barcelona, Madrid, Varna and Sofia (Bulgaria), Prague and Cyprus (North side).

Softest field was Cyprus, but my god the whole place is a shitshow regarding poker room management, English (was hard to find English speaking staff).

Toughest field was Madrid. Never seen a casino with so many solid regs. only 1-2 tables running of each level, and on most days at least half the field are regs.
The recs were mostly omc's buying in for the minimum (which was 100$ for 1/3 if I recall correctly) and being very tight, so games were very dry.

All in all Barcelona was and is my favorite spot for years now. Field is mixed, some tough regs and many tourists. Good dealers and a very nice room.

The above mentioned Barcelona, London, Prague are prolly pretty much as good as it gets. Lack of contact with poker at an early age at the side of the patrons, high rake, lack of punters, dresscodes, entry fees, ID screens, other obstacles. Not in all casinos ofc.
One thing to understand is most European casinos are either state-owned or associated and many of the proceeds go to taxes. When poker came around these casinos just integrated it into their schedule but in the same way as other games. They do not expect anyone to beat the game over the long term and that is not part of their considerations. Maybe a little bit exaggerated and some places have made some adjustments over the years but just as an explanation where this comes from. The main consequence of all this is that the live poker scene in Europe is small. If you go to a place like LA you may already have a bigger live poker scene than all of Europe combined, and better games too.
Having said that, Amsterdam is a dam nice city. Even in mid January, which is probably the worst time to visit
