I played live 1/2 cash last weekend with 5% rake capped at 15€, it went well, but before I start going there regularly I would first like to know if this rake structure is even beatable and how would you compare it to 10% 5€ capp games?
Thank you

Depends on the quality of the villains and your skill. In the US, 10% capped at $5 + $2 promotion taken after the flop is very beatable at the 1/2 level. So I'd say yes. The breakeven point with pots would be at 100. That's a big pot at 1/2 in most games.

Wow. Capped at 15. That's a vast amount in my opinion.

The games I play follow the 10% capped at 5 format. So, yeah, they reach the cap almost all the time, but it's a much lower cap.

I can say that the 5 unit rake is beatable, assuming your opponents are not good. The 15 unit rake I would think is not beatable, unless your opponents are very bad indeed.

I'm going to quote myself rather than make an edit... Having thought about it a bit more, I guess it really depends how often you wind up paying the larger rake. If it's rare, it might not matter much. Especially since on small pots, you would actually be paying less. Guess you'd have to keep some records and see how it comes out to be sure.

Can you further explain what you mean by this?

I suspect he means that pots under $100 are cheaper and pots over $100 are more expensive, compared to a $5 max rake.
