What do you or people you've seen play charge to show their hand, after everyone else has folded?

What do you or they base the price on?

Is it the stakes that you're playing? The size of the pot that you've won? How far red/black you are, in the game? How "revealing" your bluff is to your strategy? How elaborate your bluff was?

I heard that at the Main, last year, the unofficial standard rate was $10 to show! And that was a $10k buy in game! I thought that that was pretty low, considering how high the stakes were.

Now discuss.

If someone else offers me $5 or $10 to see my hand, I won't waste any time negotiating.

I would just show it and take the free money.

Assuming we don't play all that predictably, all the time, and assuming our usual 1/2 or 1/3 crowd isn't all Ivey/Negreanu clones, why not?

And if we are truly that predictable, take the $10, we are going to need it.

I'd take $5 or more but no I would not negotiate, like literally the offer would be made and I'd say no or yes + fastroll. Other people want to play poker.

I think the scope of the moment matters ... size of the pot, whose at the table, how long we will be 'stuck' together.

As seen in other IWTSTH threads, how useful is the information anyway? So you might as well take whatever is being offered.

I would probably expect at least 2-4 BB to be offered and charge 10-20% of the call/pot if asked to set a price.

As also mentioned above, if you feel the information could be useful to the table then you just say "You could've called." or "Next time stay in the hand." GL

When an opponent asks me to show my hand after he has folded, if I don't feel it is giving too much info away (it was an ABC move, no bluff), I'll tell him to tip the dealer a big blind and ask him to show his own cards if they are still available. If his cards are deep in the muck, I will still show with the dealer tip.

Most dealers appreciate the effort.

While I generally think it is better to be the nice guy at the table, especially if it is a bunch of regulars, sometimes it is morally and financially rewarding to go the other way.

If the Villain suddenly gets mouthy because you won't show and he doesn't want to pay the dealer, its a great tilt inducing tactic to shoot back something snarky like, "If you didn't want to see it, why did you ask? Here's a fiver dealer, I'm not too cheap to give you a tip."

They have to tip the dealer around 3x the big blind. Closer to 5x if they're a good player.
