The Sahara has opened a new poker room ... so, if you played there before it became The SLS and now that it's back to Sahara, can you play there and count it as a new room?
If the same building has a new name, I would count it, but can you count it when it's just back to it's old name?
Just wondering what others think - New Poker Room or not?

There's no rules really, go with what you feel.

For example, I consider the new Wynn room to be a unique room from the old one. You park in a different garage, to play in a new poker room in a different building, same chips and staff, but I count it as a new room. I think there's just enough in that case.

On the other hand, when the linq changed its named to the quad, I did not count that as a different room. Nothing really changed.

Case by case basis IMO.

I played at the old Sahara 14 years ago. I reckon I would count 'New Sahara's as a new room now that I think of it. There hasn't been a room there in how long? 10 years?

Updating my list and yes I'm counting Sahara again as its under new ownership. To me, that is a new casino. This is probably my last update of the year, my work won't have me travelling as much this year with everything thats going on. Made it to 248 casinos before they all were closed though :P

There's a handful of really good casinos in SOCAl but I have mostly played BJ there so wouldn't know which ones are legit for poker

I first started posting in this thread in 2013, having only hit a couple of rooms at the time. It inspired adventure for me.
Stalled out at 189 now, 168 of which were in North America, and all of those were visited by my current daily driver truck, that just picked up 2000 lbs of firewood today, and pulled a trailer that I lived in for 4 months this summer. 388,691 kms and counting. My battered and beaten warhorse. I play pots bigger than the selling value if my truck everyday, but still think it's a kick-ass truck somehow.

I'm hoping summer 2021 could include a coast to coast Canada road trip, that potentially heads south for the winter. Atlantic Canada, as well as some new rooms in Texas, are most looked forward to. One day when the world opens up again there's some international rooms that I still want to hit, especially those in Spanish speaking countries as I've really grinded spanish hard this year. Brazil, Morocco, and Europe are on the radar.

The last 9 months were a successful return to full-time exclusive online play for me, and by far the biggest swings of my life. An increased bankroll will just make travelling and playing more fun in future, so here's hoping that the world and poker make a strong return.

If you're in the Midwest you can now try to visit the newest poker room in Shelbyville, IN (just southeast of Indy). I believe it's a Horseshoe property and has opened with a big bang for the area with as many as 16 tables running. It's on Bravo too. GL

Just back from a 6 night trip to Vegas - 1st since 2019.

My 65 yo little brother had never been so I volunteered to show him the sights. I worked in some poker (mostly Orleans and the Omaha hi game at Boulder Station).

Stopped by Resorts World (man that is a long walk from the parking garage to the casino) for a short session just to say I had played there. Noon on President's Day and only one 1/3 nl game going. 2 guys raising just about every hand. I was patient but card dead and left after an hour down $54. Also tried to play at the Sahara - went twice and no game (nor any poker room personnel) either time. Checked Poker Atlas several times and nothing showed - wonder how long they will keep that open.

So add Resorts World onto the list at post 575 and my total is now 568 rooms played in, 697 rooms visited and 645 poker chips.

Almost 2 1/2 years since the last new one but seeing a lot on new rooms recently - 49 in Texas per Poker Atlas. Hopefully I can get down there and add some more rooms this summer.
