I've got a trip planned through Florida in two weeks and plan on adding 10+ casinos to my list. In the meantime, I've reorganized my poker chip collection and figured I'd add some photos of all the chips I've collected throughout my travels. I've played the WSOP cash games before, but never thought (or recorded) them of being different from the RIO ... that makes sense!

Do you remember what chips they use at the WSOP cash room - is RIO chips or WSOP chips? I cannot remember.

Spring Poker Trip – Colorado and Oregon

Started with 25 possibles from Poker Atlas and internet searches

Played in Black Hawk –
Isle Casino
Lady Luck
Ameristar
Golden Gates

Went to Central City only to find that poker room in Century Casino had closed 4 or 5 months ago and that the room in The Reserve had closed the previous week -so bad timing for me.

On to Oregon –

Played at

Final Table, The Game, Aces Full, Encore, Claudias, and Rialto (aka Jacks) in Portland
Black Diamond in Albany
High Mountain and Full House in Eugene
Three Rivers in Florence

Side trip to Longview, Washington to play at Cadillac Isle Casino.

Also Visited

Players Club (closed 2 months earlier per next door barman)
Nuts (closed – not sure when)
Central (Brekkes) also closed for good
Lucky Devil – in strip club – got there about 1am on Saturday night and the place was total anarchy. Came back on a Monday and no game going.
Boom Boom Room – also in a strip club – went by on a Monday and no game.
Big Stack – was closed while they were moving

Club House in Sutherlin – arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday and the door was locked.
Poker Lounge in Eugene – arrived about 9:30 on a Saturday and they had one 3 handed game going – since the 3 each had $1,500 or so in front of them and were playing Big O and Domaha(?), I kept moving.

This gets the totals to

Played in 525
Visited 642
Chips from visited poker rooms 590

Am going to try and post the complete current list in the next few days.

They both have one table that runs almost every night 9pm-2am.

I've had lots of Oregon adventures the last couple of years, so enjoyed hearing about anytwo hitting up what is a very interesting poker state.

I also collect/trade poker chips so if anyone has anyone from rooms not on my list, feel free to PM me as I've got plenty of doubles to trade.

Keeping $1chips from all the casinos you've played in is a classic way to start an extensive chip collection. I was doing this back in the 80's for several years, and eventually when I gathered them together (they were in all different drawers), I had 52 $1 chips. They were all from Vegas and Mississippi, I think. Then a buddy gave me some old Vegas ones and they were worth hundreds of dollars each. I got the collectors bug and eventually had over 700 different $1 chips from Las Vegas. Chip collecting is a blast and there are all kinds of ways to display them that are very cool, or just keep them in coin/chip albums.

Not sure if OP includes private and public poker rooms in his question. I would guess I've played in about 50 public and another 50 private.

You've got an interesting list yourself, not many Irish rooms in this thread. For me it was easy to remember because I got hooked on this thread back when my total was about 27 or something.

I love when this thread gets bumped. I'm about to do a western Canada trip that should feature 4 or 5 poker rooms. As I'm currently at 97 total I'm excited to hit 100 and hopefully make some money playing in some wild games. I could hit as many as 9 but I'm fine with leaving some experiences for another time.

Didn't see anybody with Landmark chips listed, unless I missed it. They are I think the most valuable Vegas chips without getting back into the 50s. Last I knew, unless a hoard got discovered and circulated, they were going for $300 to 400 a piece, the $1 chip, that is.

I got into it big time when a friend gave me some old Vegas and AC chips. He had several AC Playboy Club 50-cent chips. I sold them for $200 a piece that night on line, and a weak later was offered $400. There's money in them chips, and there are price guides. But mostly they are just for loving. Never collected anything but chips, just loved it.

So I got the chance to make a poker tour happen, and happen it did. Here's the story...

98) First stop was the Cash Casino, in Red Deer, Alberta. This small 24 hour room had 2 games of 1/2nl running each night I was there, Mon-Wed, and in the wee hours of thursday morning we made the game into a dealers choice game. Fountain drinks and coffee self serve station, a $10 food voucher for 5 hours of play, and pizza every night at about 3am were the perks offered by this small room. Rake was 5+1. The games were good, and I had some swings, but ended with small wins each night, profiting $750 in 28 hours of play. I was an absolute bum, so I kept all my profits. I played all night, then went to a park, put a blanket down, and slept all day for free. The weather was perfect for this.

99) Next stop was Great Northern Casino, in Grand Prairie, Alberta. I was drawn to this game by this online schedule http://www.greatnortherncasino.net/poker-room and was excited to play the DC game and the 5-10 no limit omaha game. It was a shot I wanted to take. But after a decent win my first night, I ran terrible and then tilted my 2nd night. Too bad, the game was fantastic. It was the first time I had tilted in a long time, and broke a streak of 14 consecutive winning sessions I had had. Rake was 10+1 here but the big game was definitely beatable. My plan had been to play here thur-sat, so I could then play in a sunday tournament at the Casino in Whitecourt, AB. But when the time came for the 5-10 game, I decided to leave town instead, down $1400 in 13 hours of play and drive all the way to Calgary where I had a friends place to stay and enjoy life more. I stopped by the Casino in Whitecourt, to see nothing happening at the poker tables at 6pm on a Saturday, so this room is pretty much a no-go unless you hit a specific scheduled tourny.

I wanted a fun Saturday night, so I headed to Cowboys Casino and had a fun night of 1/2. I was up 500 early, then a maniac crushed me, and then I stormed back and stacked the maniac 3 times in about 5 minutes and ended up with a good night. I then rested sunday and monday.

100) A tournament series was being held at the Cash Casino in Calgary, Alberta So on tuesday I played in a $235 buy in PLO event. The starting stack was 500 bbs and blinds were 30 minutes, so the structure was fantastic. I busted out after a play I kick myself for making, and headed to the 1-2-5 dealers choice game. The game was juicy, and players were punting stacks and it got my money in great but lost every time. After $800 lost in this game, I was at my low point for the trip.

101 I headed to the Elbow River Casino, Calgary Alberta, a room that only spreads limit games. I played 15-30 limit/full kill, the largest limit game Ive ever played in. I was winning but the game broke after not too long. So I decided to head over to a Casino I had played in before, enjoyed, and wanted to check out again, the Deerfoot Inn and Casino. I won playing PLO, and then at NL, and my day was salvaged.

I stayed 2 more nights in Calgary, and played at Cowboys Casino both nights, and won big both nights. Definitely one of favorite places out of everywhere I've played. Alberta Casinos are 18+ and Thursday night was "student night" with 75 cent drinks for students at the club right next to the poker room. And wednesday night was "ladies night" so needless to say there was some people watching to enjoy also. The poker room also gives a free buffet to all players at about 3:30am every night.

102 A long drive back to the west coast, but a new poker room now exists on this route. I stopped friday night at Cascades Casino, in Kamloops, BC to check out this new room. Brand new and clean with huge high quality TV's, this small poker room is certainly well set up. Not sure if the local population will be sufficient to keep this place going though. There were 2 games of 1/2 running. The dealers are very new to poker and were slow and error prone unfortunately. The game wasn't particularly good, so after a couple of hours I left, slightly ahead. Finished the trip up $1100 in 71 hours of play, a bit disappointed, but the strong finish to salvage the trip after being down almost $2k had me feeling pretty good in the end.

Agree that it is a dump but somehow seems like a good choice for #500.

Here is a picture of the chips. Some in the racks are duplicates but all the ones in the case are unique.

Wow... I wonder if there is a Guinness World Record for most chips collected, your set is the most I've ever seen.
