Highlight of my new rooms was Alamo Travel Center & Casino, which was an actual truck stop with a truck gas station attached. There were laundry facilities, showers in the bathroom, i'm talking full on truck stop. It was awesome. Some more unique features of poker at the Alamo: everyone (except me) was smoking at the table. I was surprised that the dealer didn't have one lit. And they chopped pots down to quarters! It was incredible and a most memorable poker experience.

Dear god man, why? Some of those are absolute holes in places that have good rooms. Others are absolute holes that you seemed to go very far out of your way to play in.

Because he wants to collect them all. Its an obsession.

Worst Chips: Palomar Card Club - so old that their logo had rubbed off almost all of the $5 yellowish-white chips
Worst Tables: Sandia - The (low-quality) felt angled down at the edge of the table so your chipstacks would fall if you tried to push them up against the edge of the felt
Tightest Play: Bicycle - Saw 5 straight hands folded around to the small blind (small blind is dropped pre-flop and no chop is allowed) in a 4/8 LHE game.

some of the rooms off the beaten path were the most interesting and unique! the alamo truck stop was so different than any of the other poker rooms i've played in, it certainly stands out in my memory.

Played in 6 States in 5 Days - stopped at 18 casinos - played poker in 16 of them -one riverboat advertised poker in the Poker Atlas but it was a table game (false advertising) and another didn't have a game going on Saturday at 1 pm - floorman said they might have a 1-2 starting around 7 - not a good sign for that room. Assuming these are all still open it would get me over 500.

Also haven't played at Horseshoe Cincinnati, Windsor Casino, several in North Dakota and Montana and one or two others here and there. Usually because there was not a game going when I passed by. There is one in an upscale hotel in West Virginia where you have to be a guest to get in the casino - at about $300 a night I'm not too sure it is worth it.

Will be in Cinci for Thanksgiving Day and hope to sneak that one in.

I've done that prairie swing pretty recently, and the landscape's definitely changed a bit since you made that list in 2001. Made some notes in your list and added some new ones.

Sorry to tell you but I am booked for Tampa and S Florida this weekend. I found 2 more casinos that weren't on my original list of 11 - Seminole Brighton and Seminole Immokalee. They both show up on Bravo so how bad can they be.

In fact last week I printed out the entire Bravo list and cross referenced against mine. Came up with another 30 rooms that I haven't played in - including Treasure Island in Vegas - I remember being there some years ago but there was no game going - can't imagine how it dropped off my list.

Also found they just opened a room in Philly at the Sugarhouse Casino. They just keep coming. May have to up my ultimate goal to 600.

I would love to go on a poker tour of the USA and Canada.

Being a real NIT here...I believe you have Harrah's Lake Charles Star in fall 2005 on your list. If technically correct you had to be one of the last players ever there. Hurricane Rita hit LC on Sep 24. Harrah's was closed and the boat was destroyed. They never reopened. So technicslly it was only open two days that fall.
