Problem now is that I am running out of places with a lot of rooms. Have a 5 day trip laid out for Calgary/Edmonton/Moose Jaw with 23 rooms otherwise it looks like 2 or 3 at a time – mostly ones that I missed on previous trips.

Seems silly to rush through them so fast, all you do is drive then.

Vancouver has 7 poker rooms. You can drive here in one day from Calgary. I didn't notice it in your list.

There are some rooms that I would like to have spent more time in but many times they don't seem worth more than an hour or so. I do try to end the day at an interesting looking one. Don't have enough available time to spend as much as I would like on the road. Maybe once I retire....

I have been to Vancouver 3 times but not in the last 10 - 12 years - and always with my non gambling wife. Did sneak out and play at the Great Canadian Casino in Vancouver in the 90s - which I believe has since closed - recall it as a small area of 3-4 tables off to the side of a room with BJ in it. Really liked visiting there - also Whistler and Victoria.

The 20-40 limit game in the casino on broadway. Olden days. When skp and Dan Hansen were regular posters at 2+2. Went over to meet skp.

Casino doesn't = card room. If you are from victoria, you get the references.

Added 3 since my last post.

Played at Maryland Live on Aug 31st - and several times since - don't seem to run well there.

Just back from San Francisco area and played at Casino M8trix in San Jose and Graton Casino in Santa Rosa

New totals are -

Poker rooms visited 560
Played in 450
Chips collected 519.

Had hoped to get to Oceanview in Santa Cruz and Mortimer's in Marina (have been to Mortimer's but there were no games going at the time).

Short TR -

Flew out with wife to visit daughter in Oakland and tour area. Got in Thursday night and convinced wife that San Jose was somehow on the way from SFO to Oakland. Traffic horrible. Got to Casino M8trix around 6 pm. Big room with about 12-14 tables sort of scattered about. Some blackjack. Two 3-6 limit holdem games going plus no limit. Got a seat in 3-6 after about 15 minutes. Played 3 orbits then bailed to keep wife calm. Won $29.

Two nights later up in Santa Rosa was able to get night off due to good behavior. Arrived at Graton Casino about 6 pm. Place was packed - brand new Indian Casino just off the freeway. Gorgeous 20 table poker room. All but 1 or 2 tables going. Limit 3-6 and 4-8 going but lists. Sat down at open Omaha 4-8seat. Players, dealers and floor all knew what they were doing. Seating was well controlled - MD Live could learn a few things from them.

Played about 1 hour at Omaha and lost $35. All good except one dealer who kept telling players "stack your chips for me" when they bet. I know it helps move the game along but if I had wanted to get nagged I could have stayed at the hotel . Got called for 4-8 holdem with full kill. Wild game - as with most new rooms there are a number of maniacs who think all you need to do is bet and raise every chance you get and then pull in the chips. Over the next 4 hours I watched a parade of them sit down and lose $100s. Got my share of suckouts - held Ace/Deuce suited, flop Ace, bet, turn Ace, bet, River Deuce, bet - caller shows Ace/Queen. Left up $290.
