Re: how many poker rooms have you played in?

You've got me beat, but I do the same thing with $1 chips. My list:

Commerce, LA
Monte Carlo, LV
Mirage, LV
Caesars, LV
Cherokee, Tulsa
Harrahs, KC
Lumiere, St Louis
Horseshoe, Louisville
Hollywood, Cincinnati
Wheeling Island, WV

Going back to Vegas in 2 weeks for my anniversary and plan to hit up MGM (our hotel), Luxor (free lessons for Mrs Wino), Venetian, and maybe Bellagio.

Re: how many poker rooms have you played in?

Ahhhhh, I count 30 off the top of my head. About half in vegas, 10 in the bay area, and some odd ones here or there.

I try to do the dollar chip thing, but I am woefully forgetful.

Re: how many poker rooms have you played in?

My list isn't nearly as cool, as I've got other things to do in Vegas than play poker.

Arizona:
  • Casino Arizona (both south in the original tents before ANY of the new buildings, and in the current location)
  • Gila River Wild Horse Pass
  • Gila River Vee Quiva
  • Fort McDowell (back when they moved out of trailers full of smoke)
  • Harrahs Ak Chin (my first Harrahs card was activated there 15 years ago -- or so I found when I went there 8 days ago for a small tournament)
  • Cliff Castle Casino (before the rebuild, but have visited since)
  • Several strip-mall "Card Rooms" in the Phoenix area..
California:
  • One of the Sacramento "card rooms" - Rancho's Club, methinks.
  • Viejas on I-8 outside of San Diego
  • Morongo on I-10
  • San Manuel outside of San Bernardino
  • Commerce in LA
  • Bay 101 in San Jose

Vegas:
  • Excalibur (my first!, with dealers raking quarters and getting tipped in silver!!!one1!)
  • Binions
  • Golden Nugget
  • Imperial Palace

I've been in most of the "big" rooms in Vegas, but too often find myself with company that isn't interested in me sitting at a poker table for hours on end when I could be teaching them to shoot craps.

Wow, I counted in my head before opening this thread.... I've played in 15 different poker rooms.

And I thought that was a lot.

Re: how many poker rooms have you played in?

Missouri:

Harrah's St. Louis
Ameristar St. Charles
President's St. Louis
Lumiere Place St. Louis
Harrah's North Kansas City

Nevada:

Wynn
Venetian
Mirage
Mandalay Bay
Caesar's Palace
MGM Grand

I want to play in more places in Vegas but whenever I'm there, I have trouble finding a reason to play anywhere other than Venetian.

I'm at about 130 -- with a chip and a story from each. But then, I started in 1969. OK, OK -- I'll get the records and chips out and list them.

Missing all of NorCal, Reno, San Diego and the entire East Coast - so my target is 200.

Abe I started around the same time. That makes us a couple of dinosaurs. As far as casinos played at I am far behind you with 60. I plan on playing at every poker room in the Midwest. So hopefully I should be around 130 rooms by the time I’m done. My favorite play to play is the Golden Nugget. I started playing there in 1976 and still enjoy playing there when I get to Vegas. You can catch me on the latest Windy City Poker Championship Show http://windycitypokerchampionship.com/

Re: how many poker rooms have you played in?

I thought this was gonna be a stupid thread but it's actually quite cool, the idea to collect $1 chips.

I've never done that but I've just got a ton of players club cards from casinos all over the country and world.. from NV CA OR WA NY NJ BC AUS etc etc.. I think the $1 idea is cooler though.
