I'll post my update in a few weeks, and you'll get a really good rundown of the Texas rooms, I have hit most of them. There's also some that aren't on Atlas.

Over 100 all of them brimming with god's gift to the game types. I loved loved loved collecting the chips.

I've hit about 25 of them and plan to hit about 10-15 more. There's certainly some I know if but won't be hitting. But 100 seems more than I'm aware of. Can you PM me a list or source? Maybe I'm missing something that could be worth hitting.

Well, it was an incredible trip. It's on pause before a couple of last stops on the way home, but the biggest part of the trip is in the books. 680 hours of poker were played over 5 months and 34 new rooms (as well as 6 old favourites revisited). Almost 30,000 kilometres (18,000 miles) driven so far. Fun, profitable, and exhausting. There were a handful of rooms that were skipped, as I play primarily for profit, secondly for fun, and thirdly to experience new rooms. So if I think visiting a room makes no sense for me for either profit or fun, it's unlikely that just visiting a new room will justify a visit.

Damn guys, I made my update from my last winter trip and now I'm on my current winter trip (3 California rooms added so far) and nobody added to this in 7 months ☹️

That gets my total Rooms Played In to 570 and Rooms Visited to 699. Have chips from 650 of those visited. Played in 14 in Canada, 1 in Spain and the rest in the US - lots of small rooms out west. This journey goes back to the late 80s and many of the rooms are no longer around.

I spent some time this summer coming up with a list of US and Canadian rooms on Poker Atlas that I haven't played in and came up with 212. Other than Texas and the Canadian Plains they are pretty spread out. Keep intending to make a few trips but things come up. Also at the point where after a couple of hours driving my butt starts to hurt. Meanwhile am playing low limit plo most Saturdays at the Four Winds casino in South Bend.

When did you visit the Colorado rooms? Was it all in a single trip or multiple trips? I hear those rooms are pretty good for action, at least on the weekend late evenings

I went to Denver on a Snowboarding trip in 2013, and went out to play 2 or 3 nights while there. I'm curious to see what it's like there now that they have better laws.

Why counting Nevada/Sahara twice?
Did they close and reopen with major renovations?

Yes, the old classic room closed down that had the $45 or $65 famous tournament that you got pieces of a giant sub at the 1st break, dubbed the $65 Sandwich tournament, because the structure sucked especially after the break and you likely would end up paying $65 for a sandwich.

About 3.5 years ago they opened the newly renovated poker room, after the newly renovated casino.

Yes, other than both places being named Sahara, they are effectively 2 completely different rooms. I'm not even sure if it's the same building. There was a gap of more than 10 years where there was no Sahara poker room.

Alternatively, I chose not to count the current Horseshoe in Vegas as being a separate entry from the old Bally's room. To me that's just a rebranding, whereas the new Sahara has basically nothing in common with the old Sahara other than a name.

I also chose to count Wynn and Encore as separate rooms. I don't generally count tournament rooms separately but I made an exception in the case of the Rio Wsop.

Just counted 23 of the Vegas rooms that I've played no longer exist. I only really started about 11 years ago for the most part. That's a lot of recent closures. And I never bothered with the Cannery, Silver 7, Club Fortune, Sams Town, and probably a couple of others that also closed in recent years.

I haven't posted in awhile, but just hit my 400th (and 401st) chip yesterday so thought I'd provide an update.

First, since we all have our own rules/guidelines for our collections, here are mine:
* can only collect one chip per casino/club
* I must have personally played poker (no table games, etc) there
* Each chip has to be from a unique casino/club. Therefore if a casino is closed then reopened under new ownership that changes the name of the casino (and therefore the chip changes) I can go again and collect a chip.

Some recent notables:
* Went to Colorado to play for the first time. Got several there.
* Went to Atlantic City for the first time in a long time.
* Texas...man Texas has a million poker rooms at the moment.
* Nothing much other to note. Just lots of poker EVERYWHERE.

Here's a website that shows where each chip was captured from in each state. For example I'm in Texas right now and just collected my 22nd chip from that state. I also have them by year so I know I've captured 19 chips so far this year. Might be able to get on in Oregon later this week, got one planned for Washington at the end of the month and then in July I go to Houston for the first time. I expect several there depending on time available.

Happy collecting everyone! If you don't have your chips displayed, I encourage you to look at Tiny Treasures. I now have four 99 each chip frames up in the house and the 5th one has just started with these recent chips. They're a great conversation starter and look very much like art.

Good to see your still setting the bar high. I'm currently on my biggest trip ever. I posted an update partway through this trip, but I've added 44 more rooms since then, and may get myself to 300 on this trip. I'm actually starting to have to skip a bunch of rooms now because I'm running out of time for this region. I've also been losing interest in visiting small rooms that one have a small game, when there's somewhere better and with a big game available to play. I've moved up a lot in poker since I started collecting experiences. Although I still find some diamond in the rough small rooms sometimes where I least expect it. This trip is 6 months in and has had 27,000 KMS of driving as well as 2 flights. Last year's trip was 6 months and 40,000 Kms. I expect this trip may surpass that distance. Then I'll never do a road trip this big again.

Huge update will be incoming with a detailed trip report when it's all done. I'm less about the chip collecting although I usually take 1. If the chips are cool or unique, I often take 2 or 3. But if they're very generic, I sometimes don't bother.

I'm curious, why did you visit the Brook in New Hampshire but not any other of the many New Hampshire rooms?

We added some of the same rooms this year. I also added The Fort, Rivers Portsmouth, and the Pennsylvania rooms recently. The 2 little clubs you visited in Virginia Beach had both just closed their poker down before I hit that region so I didn't get to add them.

Oh I see you hit them earlier. Your travel patterns are interesting. Are you a truck driver?

Not a truck driver, although I've played with many!

I'm a sales dude, so I travel the country for that. Sometimes I'm in a place for a day, sometimes a week. Sometimes I have time to hit up one, sometimes I have time to hit up several.

Very erratic in that sense.
