Get a chip from every room you've played. There are casino chip albums for the collection. Super fun hobby. Ebay sells a ton of them if you are removed from the scene of any of your haunts, or you can trade with current locals there. Shoot I haven't counted since I got back into it, but I have nearly 100 from locales I've played, including Mississippi, Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Vegas, Reno, Atlantic City, Connecticut. There are so many more locales with multiple joints, it would be a blast for a traveler.

BTW, how many states have legal poker rooms now?

Wow, would like to see that list of 23 closed rooms. You're going old school on us. I played in the early 80's there, maybe I'll try to come up with such a list. It may be quite a bit longer than I was thinking.

Okay massive update from the spring part of the last megatrip. In all it was a 7 month trip that included 36,000 kms of driving and about 800 hours of live poker. As always, there was a bunch missed here and there along the way, and some that just closed before I got a chance, or just opened after I passed through. I very rarely go to the east coast, so I hit as many as I could, most likely my next few years I won't venture out of the west unless I fly.

It's not the casinos that closed, but those poker rooms did.

The Mirage is currently being rebranded as a Hard Rock. The old Hard Rock just off the strip did close not sure what's happening to it.

I responded here in 2011. After a hiatus I'm back. Still solely Grand Casino Helsinki in Finland. The only other cardroom around here is Casino Tampere, could go there by train, but saw somewhere it may even close, let's see . To my delight Casino Helsinki is doing well though, may start playing the tournaments regularly again.

The Imperial Palace rebranded as The Quad in 2012, then rebranded again as The Linq in 2014. The Linq brand is still in use.

The poker room survived both rebrandings, then closed in 2016.

Hard Rock is now the Virgin. No poker room.

It's truly incredible how many poker scenes and stops one could make in the USA. I've made about 10 big US trips, as well as some small ones, and as I plan my next trip, I still have to accept that there's just so many that I can always hit more on the next trip no matter what. Currently at 294 rooms (added one since my last update) and thinking I could add another 25 or so during a 2-3 month spring trip.
