I'm interested in traveling to LA to play in one of the big Hustler Live games. I don't want to carry cash with me.

What's the easiest way to buy in for $25k or more? Do I just wire money to the casino ahead of time and have them wire any winnings back to my bank account when I cash out?

Each casino typically has their own menu of options, so yes, call them.

Does your bank have a branch in CA? Do you know anyone that you could send the money to that you trust?

There are cases where your bank will send the money, but then it's much more cumbersome to have them send it back. There could be a possible 'hold' on the funds and/or if you make lots of these type of transfers your bank could ask you to take your money somewhere else.

While you don't have to 'declare' cash while traveling within the US, you may get asked about it by TSA. Couple of buddies just did a round trip to Vegas with no issues on either end. Both took over $20k and came back with over $30k. I assume it was part of a 'carry on'.

While moving funds is easier than ever, but transactions do get monitored as well. GL

I would just carry the money, if you don't flaunt it around no one will even know you have it. It would really suck if you didn't get to the bank soon enough to take out the cash you wired across the country or have an issue with them verifying it's really you, so many more things can happen which are probably even more likely than if you got robbed or lost it.

The verification shouldn't be that big of an issue. You have to make an appointment to get that much cash anyway, you can't just walk into a branch and ask them to withdraw $25k in cash from your account.

That depends on the bank and the branch. If they have the cash in their vault, they will give it to you. If you go a large branch closer to the city your odds are better. A satellite branch in the country you probably won't be able to withdraw more than a few thousand.

If I am not mistaken, Bart Hansen has talked about wiring the money to Hustler before he's travelled from TX to play in their streamed games, though I don't know the details.

I recommend calling them and asking the procedures.

I think that must depend on your bank, where you live, and how much cash they keep on site for cash withdrawals. They'll want some extra information from you (and id) so they can fill out their extra required paperwork, but in many places you can definitely walk in and withdraw $25k. The teller is probably going to pass it up, but I wouldn't want to bank with an institution that can't handle $25k.

I worked in a small savings and loan in 1984. Back then we could handle up to about a 10K cash withdrawal pretty standard. For larger amounts, 24-48 hours was needed so we could get the cash from our commercial partner. Adjusting for inflation, I don't see 25K as being unreasonable today.

As for the Hustler, they have what is called a players bank that can be set up, similar to a savings account. When I was playing often there you could just deposit cash / chips and access it on your next visit. I would call them and see if you can fund an account via wire.

this question has been answered many times but I just thought about a new angle, how about going to your bank or credit union and have them write you a cashiers check payable in your name only. Carry that instead of cash so the TSA can't steal it. Get to Vegas and cash it at the cage. Would that work?

Hustler and La casinos in particular are special in they offer players player banks. You can usually wire to and from easily and withdrawal checks/chips/cash from the account easily but it requires setting up a player bank account first so call and coordinate with them.
