Praying that this nasal spray/inhaler scientistss out of San Fran. have developed and could be available otc In a couple months works. Also regenerons antibody cocktail has shown strong promise as a prophylaxis. Both will be availabe before a vaccine (the nasal spray first). And we can get back to some nornal Pokering soon

Re: General poker-related coronavirus discussion, argument, and jibber jabber

What makes you believe the nasal spray will be either first or over the counter? It has not even started phase I trials. Regeneron is startingg phase II and iii trials. Multiple vaccines are already in phase iii trials. Plus they have not even finalized who much less how to mass produce. Vaccines not only know who and how but are in production.

If the nasal spray drug is approved as an over the counter therapy and widely available in two months I will personally lay you a golden egg.

They are already creating a form of the virus to be used in challenge studies... It will speed the process of everything. The nasal spray nano bodies are cheap and easy to produce

Re: General poker-related coronavirus discussion, argument, and jibber jabber

The nanobodies do not interact with the human body only the virus itself, unlike a vaccine, hence the ability for much faster trials/approval.

Golden Nugget Las Vegas Friday night,

Crap tables have players should to shoulder, about four to six inches apart, if that.

Party!

Poker room still 5 handed.

What's up with that?

Re: General poker-related coronavirus discussion, argument, and jibber jabber

How many people KNOW where they caught covid. If someone believes playing poker is considered risky, And that someone is playing poker They are likely involved in other covid risky activities. If someone does Not see risk in Playing poker, there may be other areas of risk they don’t see. If playing poker really is not risky then unlikely to have many people catching it there.

All three of these possibilities make it unlikely for someone to catch covid playing poker and realizing it. Without significant contact tracing your query will be difficult to accurately answer.

Not to mention you'd be relying on a dumbass who ignores all warnings to admit that he is a dumbass who ignores all warnings. Those people aren't known to self-identify except through their actions.

Ok, a better question - who is playing in casinos right now, and do you feel safe playing?

Re: General poker-related coronavirus discussion, argument, and jibber jabber

Depends on your casinos preventative messasures, local county's % positive etc . If you think a shorthanded game in some cases is not going to be worth it than why bother? Some casinos are 7-8 handed with plexiglass, some not. Depends on your local area, and your absolute need to earn money from poker right now. I am probably waiting till at least end of September to assess the situation as games are plenty in my area, 7 handed though still, but current % positive has been trending downward for a few weeks. Would rather give it a bit more time.

I am playing. I feel pretty safe with all the safety measures in place. It helps that my wife already had it so I donít have anyone that I could transmit it to, assuming you get at least temporary immunity.

Re: General poker-related coronavirus discussion, argument, and jibber jabber

It would be really great if the poker rooms will spend a bit of our rake money to stock up on these new $5 Abbot rapid at home tests that take just 5 minutes to process. Would be excellent way for everyone to feel safe and put in a nice long grind session. Just my 2 cents, however i doubt it will happen.

This would be one of my prerequisites for playing at the WSOP.

With buy-ins so high, the added cost of the tests would be minimal. I wouldn't even mind if they tacked it on the cost of the tourney

Similarly for big poker series like the mega stacks at FW

Upon further reading, the test has to be administered by a healthcare professional, however there will be an an app that will display a passport of sorts to prove negative results. This will mostly be used for schools and workplaces, not sure that rec activities/facilities will be implementing this as a way to socialize activities.

Rooms in NH are generally 6 max and require players and dealers to wear a mask. Do you think this ensures that the players will not catch Covid-19?

Re: General poker-related coronavirus discussion, argument, and jibber jabber

Just Google ' Coronavirus mask study' and read some current articles reguarding effectiveness of masks etc. Saw one today on daily mail though where they assumed everyone in a setting was asymptomatic (infected) and still worse masks, and the risk was higher as per ventilation/indoor/outdoor crowd size variables

Masks are reported to prevent 99.9% of the larger size droplets from being expelled when speaking coughing etc. Might want to just keep an eye out on your local % positive and make your decision based on that if it continues to trend downward
