Mostly agree, but IMO the dealer is wrong for letting it become an issue. Yes, she identified it as a kill hand. But the SB either put out just a SB or hadn't yet put out anything at all. The dealer shouldn't give that player a second card until they put out (or at least acknowledge) a kill amount. (Same procedure should be applied for BBs. Generally less an issue for a normal SB, because if that player really doesn't want to play their SB you can kill their hand and give them a missed SB button instead without causing too much fuss.)
Once it is an issue, however, I agree the dealer handled it right. You play the hand out and the player posts a kill the next hand instead. This is SOP for a missed/forgotten kill, or post where you can no longer just kill the hand for reasons.
