I don't know what I would say, maybe I'm card dead, I guess it would depend on the situation but what I wouldn't do is care one bit about it.

It's a lot easier to say you don't care than to actually not care. Not caring is more difficult than generally appreciated.

It comes as a result of confidence in your game. If you haven't convinced yourself that you're playing correctly, it's difficult to fully project the image that you're playing correctly.

But do you want to project the image that you're playing correctly?

"I never play unless I get at least one wild card. Took me a lot of time in home games to figure that out."

This is the correct approach. Its not close.

Dont make excuses like "im only getting J2o"

Dont tap the tank.

I'd say I'm waiting for the bad hands, cause the good ones always get cracked.

Wow if he notices you aren't playing any hands, you must be folding way too many hands. I would try and play as many hands with a fish as possible. Unless i'm just not catching, than I would fold for a while or take a quick break.

Lots of players notice when a particular player is much tighter than they are but only the 'weaker' ones say something.

I like to tighten up even more out of spite.

It's not going to take long for any aware player to peg me as someone who is tight and competent. Instead of tilting at windmills and trying to convince someone that I am anything else, I embrace that image. I will happily point out that I am folding the button or small blind in a limped pot.

That's tilt, btw.

You're deviating from optimal play due to an emotional response.

Happens to me a lot. Usually when I'm utterly card dead (nothing but bottom 70% hands for hours) some fish calls me the tightest player at the table or similar. I've tried saying something like "yeah 92o isn't that appealing to me" and similar but it doesn't work. They think what they're going to think.

So I would just ignore it or say something that reinforces the belief that you're a super nit. And increase your bluffing frequency.

Not too much though. They're still going to call off their stacks pretty light even if you haven't played a hand in hours.

It's nice that he is letting you know his thought process. Use that to adjust your playstyle appropriately.

I play too many hands, so it means I play better. I just cut out the marginal hands which I sometimes play.

If it's during a hand you should call the floor, because it's not permissible by the rules.

Otherwise, you can throw in some strategic semi-bluffs such as playing AKs like it's the nuts.

Or play the same number of hands, but play them slightly more aggressively to take down more pots. TAG ftw.

You play too many hands normally and they still call you tight? Wow lol.

Lol. Those tight players who wear a hoodie and sunglasses are the funniest. It's like what's the point if they're hardly ever in a hand.

After 3 streets unimproved... nobody's putting you on a triple barrel, but you don't want to spew, so add some pre-game bluffs to your utility belt.

Kind'a like this combined with small adjustment to strategy.
