I have a view about this but won't open up on it yet... Too much...

In your opinion, What is the best etiquette when you are at the table for these hard workers. ?
Given the fact that there is a 90% chance they have seen and experienced more than you will ever accomplish on the felt in your life...
I always ask their name and tip 5% win or lose..... And it is never their fault ..

What?! They deserve all the berating for making me lose when i am ahead or at least 50/50, and also if i am not ahead its their fault they didnt spike a desireable card for me. Its their fault and they should just take all the **** and be silent. Since when are the dealers considered equal to players? They are subhuman species when they ar dealing a poker game and it is perfectly acceptable to berate them, swear at them and call their mother a dirty whore, throw small things at them like a lighter is perfectly fine, a punch in the rib if you are in position 1 or 9 is also quite acceptable after they set you up twice or more. it is also quite acceptable to tip them a very small amount if they did a good job, but it is considered a weakness for sure.

So in a session where you lose $500 you tip the dealer negative $25? Don't they get mad when you pull the chips out of their toke box?

Seriously, what is the point of this thread? It sounds like another tipping thread, in which case, why don't you just go to the tipping containment thread in C&CP?

I'm not sure what you want here. Just be a decent human being. Treat them with the same respect as you would with any other person you meet.

As for tips. 5% of all the pots you win is enormous and you will be loved by the dealers, but you have little chance of being a winning player.

Like Bombanca, I make sure they understand that everytime I win, it is skill, and every time I lose, it is because of their crappy dealing. I also try to use as many of the same tired catchphrases and jokes, then guffaw loudly at them and chastise them when they don't laugh at my wit. I remind them the customer is always right.

I actually do all of the above, but with a lot of sarcasm to let the dealers blow of steam at players who do the above behavior non-ironically.

I like to help those hard working dealers out, so I move the button for them. But being a humble guy who doesnt need good deeds acknowledged, I dont say anything. I also pitch in with reading hands aloud, making change, and answering players questions, like when one asks another in the hand how many chips he has behnd. . Anything to lighten the load for these dealers.

You should also combine antes on one side of the table, help them by giving them driection on how to split up side pots, and save time by pushing other people's bets into the pot.

I have not seen a dealer here in Sweden ever even get phased by stuff directed towards them.. but Swedes are the Vulcans of the star Trek poker world..

I am also confused about what you are asking here. The best etiquette is to be a nice person. Treat them how you would expect to be treated if you were in their spot. Just like your momma should have taught you. Tip a buck when you win and don't be grumpy when you lose.

Do not be confused. There seems to be no president on this matter.... You say a bad word . You get a penalty.. I want to know the proper and accepted unwritten rule... How many arseholes have cursed our. Dealer and nothing happens.. seems a bit cloudy.....

They all seem to be, but as you well know. It only takes one decent answer to end it

42 is not only a decent answer, it is the ultimate answer.

Is it done now?

I don't care if you blame me for your losses and bad beats as long as you give me credit for the wins. Just give me a buck every time I push money to you and I'll deal with whatever idiosyncrasies you have.

Why/how/when do you tip the dealer while you're losing? LOL

I mean, I've seen it done, but only when a player loses his mind.

You don't tip when you lose a pot and you don't have to (though split pots you should, especially in split pot games).

I would also like a more direct inquiry ... and some grammar cleaned up in the title.

As most of you know I have a history of comments in the tipping thread but I just played in a WSOP ME Seat freeroll tournament yesterday and I will be tipping quite a few of the Dealers the next time I see them at a cash table. They were just pumping out the hands since my table was very passive with many times per orbit where the Button would raise and take it down and very few hands made it past the Flop. They weren't getting any breaks either with most of them having to work through an 11 table lineup.

I made it all the way to 13th ... My bust out was KK v 99 and I got 4-flushed on the Turn. When the Dealer got pushed off the table to Brush he was kind of nervous and I just walked up and almost gave him a hug to reassure him that it was "OK" (this time).

Multiple times I had Floors and Dealers peering at my stack to see how it was going and there was quite a few pained faces at the bust out. One Floor even volunteered to 'take a walk' with me so I didn't try to throw an ATM or Player's kiosk out the window!! (Not that I'm a violent person, but .. you know)

It was very nice to see some of them invested in my potential success ... GL

Dealers shouldn't be afraid to even talk to you when you take a bad beat. What kind of behavior do you normally exhibit?

I think he was just nervous knowing how much the opportunity meant to me and didn't know what to say since I was still hanging around. I can get a bit tilty on my 3-4th BI or if my stack is depleted all in one down, but I would certainly hope that no one would feel intimidated or threatened by me.

From what I'm told I take a few extra extremely bad beats than the normal Player, but I just think that is associated with a higher VPiP.

The other day I was actually playing against a Dealer in PLO ... Flop Q33 ... I have A773, D has AQJ3 .. Turn 7 and we get it all in. I ask him "How much do I owe you?" He's like, "You're ahead." I'm like "How much?" ... River Q, just like clockwork ... GL
