We need to get you checked into that seat so another player doesn't get sent to take it, so we need to put a guest in there if you won't give up the card. Maybe we don't try very hard to get it fixed when you're finally done with your conversation at the other table or texting or whatever it is you do on those phones. It should be part of our process to make sure everyone who wants to be checked in is checked in.

As a player, the best thing is to just put it out in front of your seat within reach of the dealer when you sit down. Don't wait until the hand is over. If I can put you in during a lull in the action I will, otherwise it will go in after the hand. Don't throw it at us and don't tuck it under the rail. I love it when a player comes to the table, tucks their card under the rail in the 3 seat where I have zero chance of reaching it and walks away to get their chips. When they get back and I ask them to give the card to me they're always shocked that they aren't already logged in.
I live the guy who throws his card in while a hand is going on...... getting him logged in immediately is obviously more important than the players in the current hand...... why should my attention be on the game when I can be getting him logged in...

OP seems like they never forget to have their player card swiped, so what's the issue???

That's not so bad. Sometimes they won't tell me that's it's amazingly wonderful to see me. And they consider themselves great dealers.

Please don't. Do you ever feel like it's 'us' vs 'them'? It's because of stupid petty **** like that.

Right.... its ridiculous petty to cheat them out of there $3 in comps ...... So much better to wait until they hit the bad beat and tell the floor the guy told the other player what his cards were so it can be disqualified .....

If I saw a dealer not ask a player for their card when they sat down, or not ask a regular player who is not swiped in "do you want to use a card today," I would probably choke the dealer with one hand.

As a dealer, you supposedly have an extra two feet of arm extensions that no one else is privvy to. This is why players in the 4 and 8 seats put their antes and bets 2 inches in front of them and 3 feet away from where the dealer is located.

The room I play at the most often doesn't have Bravo systems installed. The poker promotions cards are supposed to be swiped in when you ask for a seat at the front desk.

I was sitting at a table one day and as as dealer was dealing a hand, a player whipped out his player's card and reached out to hand it to the dealer saying "will you swipe this in"? I asked him if he seriously expected the dealer to stop dealing and walk across the room to swipe his card for him. He didn't see the problem in asking the dealer to do it...

I was at Save On Foods today and the Teller did not ask for my points card, I actually had to say here is my points card. I got back at them by not donating $2 to support the local food bank.

Or maybe he just wasn't a regular player in that room and didn't know you have a weird process for it.

The audacity of the dealer not putting the deck down, standing up, abandoning the well, and swiping that poor guy in!

Have you ever seen a hidden Bravo system? I haven't. In every room I've seen them in, they are installed in plain view of every seat at the table. If you don't see one, there isn't one. Oh, and he got the card from the room and they explain the process when you get your card. He was just being buffoon.

The word Buffoon is not used often enough IMHO. It describes many folks in the room and their actions quite well.

I hate when I’m at cvs/Walgreens and they ask for my players card when I go to buy a $2 item....

I’m just like Jill... log me in as guest today

just give them your phone number ldo

one of my friends has like 10 of those little tabs on his keychain don't fall prey to those things.

One of the regs where I play doens't carry his players card but knows his number by heart so he goes up to the desk and has them log him in manually (that might be taking it too far).

Floors can't stand those kind of players. And actually if he's enough of a reg it's easier to manually plug him into Bravo by his name as opposed to him dictating his # to the floor.

It is part of their job, companies use those cards to build customer profiles so that they can analyze customer buying habits. You don't really need to be logged in to buy something

If it is a matter of convenience, use the Stocard app on your phone to store all your loyalty card numbers (it even creates a barcode that most scanners can read).

At a grocery store that I only go to occasionally, I always just ask for a new card. They scan it in, I get the discount, then I throw it away when i get home.

Im a dealer and the last sentence makes you a douche. Agree with everything up to that point.

just tie it in to your phone number and they can punch it in every time.

I don't understand why you would go through this every time you go to the store. You have to fill out your name, address and phone number they don't just hand out cards. Maybe it's different at your store but everywhere I wanted a card I had to fill something out.
