Dealer exposing remaining deck cards to player facing bet Dealer exposing remaining deck cards to player facing bet

Watching a poker vlog on youtube when this hand came up. Hero bets river, while villain is thinking dealer is lifting all the remaining cards in the deck few times and might be exposing them to the villain facing the bet. This goes on at 20:17min in the video. Am i over reacting or something fishy might be happening here?

It's the muck, not the deck (which is irrelevant in this situation). Something fishy could be going on, but more likely it's just a bored, careless dealer playing with the cards. The camera picks up the bottom card of the deck when the cut card is removed, more evidence that the dealer is probably a little too careless here.

I agree the dealer was being sloppy, but you are over reacting. How is the villain seeing cards, look where he is sitting.

And this.

Also, I think you have the wrong forum. If it's even worthy of a thread, it probably should be here:

I moved this thread from NVG to CCP.

It's almost certainly not malicious, but if I were at the table I would ask the dealer to stop playing with the muck and I would direct all subsequent feedback to the floor if it didn't change.

It def looks bad IMO .. The V is in Seat 9 and could possibly see some of the fanned cards once the Dealer turns them square to the betting line.

It's certainly not in the Dealer handbook and should be corrected. Any unnecessary touching of cards or chips can lead to unwanted spots. GL

PS .. I took some French, so it was pretty cool to try and understand what we being said.

Most likely an unprofessional, fidgety dealer rather than anything nefarious. I saw a colleague do something similar once and he had no idea he was exposing anything.

How is viewing the muck irrelevant? If I can remove hands from villains range by seeing the muck, it affects my decisions significantly

I think he means that the distinction is irrelevant in this case. It's careless either way.

Irrelevant because the board is out. Exposing the stub with cards to come is worse. Exposing the muck is still pretty bad, though.

On reread, I think you are right.

Holy cow, that dealer is horrible. I watched just 5 minutes of the dealers that came before that one and they are all bad, bumping the deck, rolling the deck, and pulling in the burns early.
