Has anyone tried 'clear' reflective lens for playing poker? I find sunglasses tend to block way too much light, and you can't really notice anything from other players.

Has anyone tried clear glasses with a reflective coating? Is it easy for your opponent to see where you're staring?

If it doesn't work, what colour lens tends to work the best?

Only d-bags wear sunglasses while playing poker and I think they shouldn't be allowed. People's eyes are a huge part of reading them and you shouldn't be able to block that. Also post this in the B&M forum not here, this forum is more for the discussion of hand histories etc.

Umm, no. This is just your opinion. Almost all successful pros have used them at some point (including Phil Ivey).
If wearing sunglasses helps your game, use them. If not, don't. And let others wear them if they choose.
Usually if I see someone wearing sunglasses at my table I mark them as a player with low confidence who needs a crutch, and I target them. But I don't lable them as a d-bag.

dude we're talking about live 1/2 and 2/5 here. if sunglasses gave me a +1BB/100 hands edge I still think I wouldn't care.

Literally NONE of the players I respect (high profile or local pro) wear sunglasses at the table. The clear mirror glasses make you look like an even bigger 'tard than normal ones.

you must respect some crappy players, then. Anything that can give me an edge inside the rules, I will use now and forever.

I'm not too sure about mirror glasses, but whatever works for you. I personally use just dark sunglasses.

Do you also pop your collar and wear backwards baseball caps?

OP, I've found the perfect glasses for you: LINK HERE

Spoiler:
Quote:
The curvature of the lens traps in moisture and blocks out air currents to help reduce the need for blinking during intense game action.
Sounds exactly like the edge you need.

Yep. Phil Ivey, Patrick Antonius, Phil Galfond, Barry Greenstein, etc. are crappy and are unworthy of my admiration and respect.

Whoever said they target those who wear sunglasses at the table is right on. Either they're weak-tight and wear them because that's what the guys do on TV. Or, they're hyper aggro-tards who back down the second you play back at them but wear them because they think that's what gets respect.

So you admire players like Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Greg Raymer, etc..?

You have some interesting perceptions about people who wear sunglasses. Which of those categories do you think i fit into?

To even put Ivey in the same sentence as those other guys is ridiculous. There's no comparison - Ivey is miles ahead of those guys.

I don't know which category you fall into, but if you were at my table wearing sunglasses, I'd set my sights on stacking you (assuming you're not a ratholer as well).

You're easy to tilt, obviously, if sunglasses change your entire gameplan.

I don't think wearing sunglasses is douchey. I tried it myself but couldn't see a thing and it gave me a headache. There are far more 'aggravating' wannabe pros actions (the stare down, fancy ways of putting chips into the pot, and the all time best: The twirly air toss fold.)

Dude, I'd wear a giant pair of balls on my forehead if it set someone else off this easy.

I've never worn sunglasses, but imo the quoted post is about the best endorsement for wearing sunglasses at the table.

He's hoping searching for "douchey poker sunglasses" finds something really epic for sale on ebay.

Also, saw this sunglasses-wearing fish not too long ago and set my sights on stacking him immediately, per the posted suggestion:

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Your sunglasses don't hide that you suck...

The next time you play against someone who recently had a family member die, you should ask them a lot of questions about how the person died every time you're in a pot with them. You could also blow your nose into your hands while you do it.

I don't wear sunglasses, I wear those Korean contact lenses that make me look like an anime character. Freaks half of my opponents right out and the other half want to take me on a date.

Could the people that claim wearing sunglasses give you an 'edge', could you please explain to me what advantages there are to wearing sunglasses and be specific.

I don't wear sunglasses, now I'm worried that people can tell if I looked at my whole cards or not, or if I glanced at the flop at some point. Please advise, thank you.

FWIW I don't wear sunglasses but that's a preference as I don't wear then outside of poker either.

@ringinabox- as an earlier poker player stated seeing someones eyes can help with tells especially on weaker players. The stereotypical online player playing live is wearing a hoodie, hat and sunglasses listening to music on an ipod. This is ostensibly to cut down on live tells they may be giving off.

only time a sunglasses wearer doesnt look douchey is when they have like 600+BBs stack in front of them, then maybe, just maybe i give some credit
