I'm going to go out on a limb and say one of those two $1 chips is a toke chip that doesn't play in the game. It has to be that way in Texas to abide by the weird grey area we've mapped out for legal poker in this state.

JOTS, have you really not heard about the semi-legal "members only" poker clubs in Texas? There's a thread about them here.

As mentioned above, the extra ones are prob tip chips. When I was there you could only tip in cash to keep the dealer from directly benefiting from the game and thus keeping the game "legal." It wouldn't surprise me if some places are now selling tip chips to be more convenient than having a few ones behind your stack.

Majestic is a home chip brand by Apache, so presumably a home game.

In for 10, out for 49 at 15-30 big dumb limit. About 2-3 hours total.

This was a magical evening where I got lots of big pairs that held up, AK always flopped an A or K and held up, small pairs became sets, bottom pairs turned 2 pair, and gutshots got checked around to turn the straight. A better player would probably have won more.

How does it work? You just buy chips to tip with? Let's say I tip a sb per hand won, so I just calculate and buy a stack of tipping chips?

Might want to implement something like this at our local game.

Bumping the funniest things you’ve seen in a card room thread has worked great - how about this one? @wsop final table it’s been a while.

I remember when the Mirage 20/40 would become 40/80 on Thursdays (maybe Friday?) after the kitchen staff got paid.

God that was a good game. Nothing but racks and racks of blues. 4 bets on virtually every street. (At least I think the $20 chips were dark blue and $10 chips yellow…it’s been awhile).

Dinesh makes me want to find a good limit game. I just assumed everyone who played it was dead now.

"Big dumb limit" makes for some of the best chip porn. I do not know of anything more beautiful than a good 15/30-20/40 game with multiple players sitting with 3-4 racks in front and every pot with at least 100 chips in it.

This is a couple years old, but for reference (30/60 1/2 kill)
