Time to bring back the thread. In for $500 at 2/5. Out at $1300.

Near the end of a 20 hour and 43 minute session. 1/2 300 cap buy in. Stack of blue and whites aren't in the frame. A bit over 2k.

Didn't seem that impressive compared to the 10-10-25 PLO game 2 tables over, but I was happy with it.

Norwegian crowns, so $1 usd = ~7,50 NKr

Live poker is illegal in Norway so casinos are forbidden. The pics are from underground clubs

Dunno if I'm losing my mind, but wondering how you play 20/40 when your smallest denom chips in play are 50?

My first contribution to this awesome thread. Probably best I've ever played in a cash session (more of a tournament player) and my best result. ~4 hour session. In for $300, out for $1864. Ran red hot, got plenty of action on my big hands and had couple bluffs that helped get me paid all session.

Buy in $100 at $2/$3 and lose that. Buy in another $100 and build it up to ~$500 after moving from must-move to middle of 3 tables of $2/$3 going at the time. First big hand, I raise to $8 in mp (I like to raise small w my whole range and was getting respect and open-raising a lot) and get like 3 callers, including young asian guy who I felt was waiting to bust me in the blinds. I have like $470 and y.a.g. barely covers. Flop is 8-8-6(?). Y.a.g. checks, I bet $20 w Td8d. Guy on button pops it to $60. Y.a.g. c/r to $120. Felt he was squeezing me w a straight draw or pocket pair (I'd been c-betting a lot) or an 8. I call. Button folds. ~$325 in pot, ~$340 behind. Turn is a T. Y.a.g. checks, I bet $140, he c/r all-in, I snap call and snap lose when river Q hits and am shown Q8o.

Steam a bit outside, regroup and buy in $100 more. Very first hand, get 88 on button and get it all-in after an open to $15 and win with a straight. From there on, it was off to the races.

This European late 20 something year old in seat 9 kept buying in and getting stacked by me. One hand I had J9o and raised in mp and several to flop flop, including y.e.g (young European guy) in the blinds. Got heads up w him on the turn of a board like 8-7-2-5 with two flush draws (?). Bet turn and faced a bet on a blank river. I called and he open-mucked . I show the J9o and it set him on tilt rest of night. Called another sizeable river bet vs him later on w K8 high and good vs his K4o.

At this point, I'm literally playing like 62.5/37.5 vpip/pfr or something crazy like that (8 handed most of session and figure playing 5 out of every 8 and pfr 3 out of every 8). Stack continually added to by $100 pots here, $250 pots there.

Won a decent pot vs y.a.g. when I had Ah4h and r/c a preflop 3-bet from him and called two big bets on a Ad-Qh-Xd-Jx board that checked behind on a Kd river and I was good. Won sizeable pot vs a y.w.g. who 3-bet from the blinds and fired two streets on an A high board and checked river and my hand was good.

Seat 9 was replaced by a 30-something portly white guy (p.w.g.) who proceeded to blast through several hundred, most of which came my way.

Seat 4, to the left of me, had a stack of around $1k when I was sitting on like $1300. I raise Ac6c and he flats aling w few others. He's an older skinny white guy (o.s.w.g.). Playing really loose passive pre and post flop. Flop is Kx-5c-4c. Turn is 2c. He c/r me to like $150 and I repop it to like $325 and he calls and calls like $200 more on blank river with 3-6.

Got out of hand prior to that hand where I tried taking away a multi-way pot on a paired, unconnected flop and called for like $80 more into like $320 when y.w.g. shoved in lp. All I had was two back door draws and live cards vs his flush draw but he hit. This hand probably helped me get paid off big on subsequent hands. Only caught bluffing one other time.

Getting tl;dr so gonna post some pics:

$1363

$1616

$1877:

I'm about to board the flight home from my second trip to Vegas. I had a very swingy trip with some crazy sessions.

First day I win 1300 in the PH 1/2 game, then 300 at Venetian

Next day I get wrecked at Bellagio and Venetian 2/5 for 2400.

Next day have one of my best 1/3 sessions ever at Aria, cashing out almost 1900 (1300 in bills!)

That night, I play 5/10 for the first time at Bellagio, losing a buyin getting half my stack in, 4betting my AdAs preflop and shoving all hearts flop. Guy called off like 400 pre with AJhh:

Bye pretty orange chips

Then I lose another 1k buyin check raising the turn all in for a stack I had run up to 1400, guy calls off with 2nd pair, no draws, and I miss my draw.

I play some 2/5 at Venetian on my final day (today), in for 1600 running bad, buying in for 500 and topping to 500. I'm down to about 260 (-1340)on my last bullet, and end up running it up to this, eventually cashing out about 2900.

After all the swings it wasn't a very profitable trip, but I feel I learned a lot and got some valuable experience.

my best live-session to date
20/40 round of each, switched to only PLO late in the night

in for 4k, cashed out 75,8k

red = 10 (3x 20 stacks not included in the pic)
green = 50
grey = 100
blue = 500
yellow = 1k

been on a sick heater this year. Up 276k in that game so far this year.
20/40 equals $2/5 and 276k equals $36k

Le búmp.

Not much by the standards of this thread, but it's my record at this stakes: $1/$2/$3 NLHE at Casino M8trix in San Jose, in for $300 and out for $1220-something.

Very nice! Love the chip castle.

@lossage, I remember the first time I played in CA -- the blue 1's and yellow 5's were really wacky to me having started in AC (here they're white and red, respectively).

Any advice on how to actually stack the chips? I try but no matter what I can never get them nice and neat for support and they are all sloppy and fall down easy.

These two are last chipstack pics I have taken, both from Oceans Eleven last month. Started at 2/3 NL and finally got called for 5/5 NL.

2/3 NL

Took ^ to 5/5 and left with this...

I'll start taking more pics, I love this thread!

If you mean the curved stacks then they can only be SLIGHTLY offset near bottom, increasing to about one third offset at top. All three towers have to lean on each other at top. And then like the Roman arches, a bit of weight (chips) on top helps keep it stable. Some casinos chips are too slippery or are not flat enough for this to work.

I look forward to trying the other designs here. It is incentive to accumulate.
