They will probably spread if you can fill a table of 9.

Back at Arlington Trackside today, a very nice set up! Still seeking players for $5-10 Limit Omaha 8 or better. Come in an sign up on the "Interest" list. See you at the 4:30 tourney, othewise.

After discussion with one of RCG's lead people, it appears they will not spread any limit high-low Omaha 8. He said if there was enough interest that they "might" spread straight Omaha as a Limit game. Pot Limit Omaha (1-2) did start at 5pm. Too rich and too much variance for my bankroll. Lost my buy-ins in two $28 SNGs. Won a few bucks at 1-2 NL, but overall down about $30 for the day.

What are the best/worst venues right now for both Rockford Charitable Games and Chicago Charitable Games? Haven't played RCG in a few years and I've never played CCG. Any insights helpful (turnouts, etc). Particulalry interested in which venues to hit up/avoid in the western burbs. Thanks!

Almost all the RCG games are at decent banquet halls, Arlington Trackside. The Legion Halls are not quite as nice, but acceptable. Haven't played the CGG for awhile, but generally not quite as well run as RCG. Turnouts all good currently from around 2pm until 8pm, but there still should be several tables going after that. When college students are home they are filled even more.

Nice score. Glad you didn't get the bad beats I did at cash. NL can be so cruel. Ended my streak of 3 straight winning sessions.

Odeum on the 23rd is probably their best venue with the biggest turn out. Looks like they're having a $200 Mega deepstack that day which is always pretty sick. was at the last one and they had like 60-70 players. oh and a PLO rebuy tourney.. that's interesting.

Thanks for the link. I've never played CCG before. Just recently heard of them. Will try them out in the future but I work most weekends so they might be a little tougher to play than the RCG which run almost every day. I can't believe they do these at the V.F.W. in West Chicago I lived right down the street from there my whole life. Now that I move they have live poker there..not just bingo. Some of my friends will be happy to hear about this.

Does 2-5 NLHE typically run at the Odeum? I stopped going to CCG events after realizing it was pretty much all 1-2. Maybe things have changed? I'd love to be proven wrong.

Doesn't typically but there's routinely a larger 1-2 $100-500 PLO that gets going there which gets a ton of cash on the table. The 1-2 game at CCG is a 50-300 buy in, so they typically play larger as well, resulting in the lack of a 2-5 game.
It's happened in the past though getting a 2-5 going there, and if people show up with the money then it'll for sure go. Just start an interest list. Usually 6-7 1-2 games will result in enough 2-5 players waking up

Last time at the Odeum there was a ton of money sitting on the tables. The 1 2 played like 2 5 with a lot of deep stacks. One good thing about CCG is no problem cashing out $2,000+.

Mania, 6 on the Richter Scale this week at RCG events at Chandlers & Wellington. I'm in that variance stage that's driving one nuts. Got to admit I've had some suckouts as well. Yesterday at Wellington, out in 45 minutes @ the $30 Early Bird, chopped 3-way for $170 @ $55 SNG, bought in short ($100) @ 1/2 cash and busted in an hour when all-in with pocket Kings vs AK. Yep, the ace was the door card on the flop. Still only down $60 for ten hours of play. Some super aggressive way over pot size bets by a couple of players. You either have to fund a few buy-ins, or need to play super tight. One dude at Chandlers (lag), but with smallish bets was hitting everything and built an $800+ stack. I basically stayed away from confrontations with him.
Another Key BBeat Hand (minus $120) - Flopped nut flush vs a fish. The kind that would call off his stack with top pair & would call about any bet with 2nd pair. On the flop he bets $15, I call, turn he bets again (amt?), I call. Board pairs on river, he goes all-in. Based on the action/type player I call off my stack to his rivered full house.

You'd recognize me but I'm 3x your age. We only have "home remedy" games at my house. I'm always up for playing and making new friends no matter what their age. I'll PM.

Thought some of you may enjoy this video. Comment: Most of the hosting venues are much nicer than you'll see here and much larger crowds.

sounds like CCG will be at the Odeum tomorrow...i'm thinking of giving this another shot. has anyone ever had any BAD experiences in dealing with cashouts or any other shady money related situations at one of these? i know the action is good, but i'm not sure how comfortable i feel about leaving thousands of dollars up to a bunch of volunteer workers...any insight would be appreciated!
