I appreciate the suggestion, and had considered it a couple times when things started to get out of hand, but the thread does explore interesting topics and my preference is usually to let threads peter out on their own rather than lock them. If the participants can't keep things civil, though, I definitely will end up locking it.

As an aside, if something like this comes up again in the future, rather than make a post like this, I would instead recommend you use the "report post" function (on any reasonable candidate post, or just the most recent one), and you can just make your suggestion there instead.

Not really. Lattimer and I discuss on a case by case basis if needed, and sometimes will get other admins involved. We understand the desire to weed out scammers, but there is no way for us to ensure both sides get their messageboard due process, and generally just don't want to deal with the hassle involved if things get litigious.

At one point there was a principle being thrown around in another sub-forum that it would be allowed if the accuser also revealed their (real) name to even the playing field, but I'm not sure if that was ever accepted as a policy we might use.

ETA: this is my understanding of current policy, but Lattimer might have a different opinion, which he is also welcome to share, obviously.

I have no problem revealing my real name if need be, but it can be revealed anyways in like 5 seconds if someone wants to google my username.

I understand you guys have a 'negative feedback' thread in the staking forum, which is intended for 2p2 staking/transactions though my debt isn't techinically through 2p2. This 2 year debt is over a handshake staking deal gone bad, when villain just ran away made excuses non stop then I just gave up trying to collect in early 2019. Villain has been playing 10yrs~ on and off in various local live casinos. I figure finally outing him in the CCP local threads might entice him to pay, and my odds of getting paid might go from 1% to 5% perhaps.

Anyways ill refrain from posting unless you guys give me the good to go.

Great addition, especially in these times. While it's not a formal rule in our poker room, when dealing I try and steer conversations away To something else when those topics come up. Nothing can kill the good vibe at a table more than one guy declaring "Trump has been great for this country" and then those agreed and opposed get revved up. Of course, I never give the slightest hint of my opinion on any of these topics.

One night after I had to break up an intense Trump good/bad argument, as I was squaring the deck some of the cards squirted out and I had to redo it. I said, to no one in particular "sorry about that. It happens sometimes as I have presidentially small hands. ". No one even noticed except one guy who gave me a smirk and whispered "well played".

Could you add that one of those places is NOT my live stakes no-limit back yard?

I'm going to be cleaning up our coronavirus threads a bit to keep every thread from being about everything. I have retitled some, and moved posts around.

Some of the conversations may end up a little hard to follow as a result of posts being moved around - apologies in advance for that. If you look at the top part of each post you can at least see which thread it originally came from, which might help with understanding a bit.

Please try to post in the appropriate threads going forward.

Damn you're right. Sometimes moved posts keep the original thread title and sometimes not. I've never determined what causes one vs the other.

I now suspect that renaming the thread renames all the posts currently in it. One of the last things I did was rename the jibber jabber thread, so by then all the other thread's posts had been moved into it already.

I have added a section on TX and other gray area poker jurisdictions to the FAQ. This includes info about poker in locations where cardroom or casino poker is not strictly legal and/or covered by a gaming jurisdiction, but is instead operated semi-publically, possibly under the auspices of "membership organizations" or other similar workarounds.

As agreed to by the mods, threads/posts about gray area jurisdictions belong in the Home Game Listings forum, not here in CCP.

The mods there have asked us not to move these threads into their forum, which they then have to spend the time and energy to merge into the appropriate threads there. So going forward, these threads will be closed and/or deleted here in CCP. Links to the appropriate forum is now in the FAQ - please make your posts on these topics there instead.

(I also did a little bit of cleanup and reorganization to the FAQ.)

What's with the weird title change in the coronavirus and cash games thread. Just wondering because it seemed like a straight forward title

We were having problems with 3-4 threads all having posts about the same CV things. So I retitled several of them to make it clear what topics belonged where and moved posts into the appropriate places. It is explained about 8 posts above this one.

There were 4 (?) threads about coronavirus and poker going on in this forum, and they were all starting to blend together as far as the type of stuff being posted in them. So there were 2 choices - merge them all into 1 giant thread, or separate them out and keep them on topic. So we chose the latter... 1 thread for room re-opening news, 1 thread for the future of live poker, and 1 thread for everything else (the one you're asking about, which we rolled 2-3 threads into).

As far as the thread title itself, dinesh is a Mr T fan.

Can you do all of us a favor and just leave the thread? I have talked to at least 20 of the posters here and absolutely no one wants you here. You seem to be powertripping at anything you can. There is going to be covid discussion BECAUSE THIS CASINO IS IN THE COVID HOTSPOT. I dont care if i get banned, you are way out of line. This forum is already losing traffic over time, we dont need someone going ham with bans reducing the number of people posting.

There's a big difference that's already been explained a number of times - problem is no one wants to listen.

Discussing issues about MGMNH or how they are handling it is one thing. IE - there is a disgusting bucket of unwrapped masks for you to reach in and get one.

People who want to debate the disease in general or tell people that masks are stupid or dont work or generally just jackass it up - take that elsewhere. But people do it anyway and are surprised the mods get pissed.

For every person that would quit the thread because they want to be able to discuss Covid issues my guess is that there are two more that would come back.
