As a reg, with a bankroll to play from, I think you've forgotten what it's like for someone who has lost $500 and just used their credit card to get $500 more. Money he is no doubt hiding from his wife. Under these circumstances, yes it can take more energy than is available.

Not saying it's right, just that it happens.

We could use the same reasoning not to congratulate someone on a 100k jackpot because we don't know if they lost 150k on something else in the morning. Personally, I would be kinda confused if nobody said anything after I won that jackpot.
