IDK what you're asking here, but there's a Colorado poker thread in Venues and Communities. I'd ask it there... and a bit more specifically when you do.

A long time Reg in our area is now a Reg in CO. When he was home for the holidays he showed 'glee' about the scene up there. Very deep and plentiful NL games at both the casino and at Home Games. He was very bored with our lack of even 2/5 and no one seemingly willing to play his brand of deep stacked poker.

Some games play bigger 'quickly' with Blind increases or Straddles. Some talk of Players dropping 10-40K a night in some games. The largest game only runs 1-2 times a month when a specific Player wants to play, but it's worth getting a seat at that table.

With CO still pretty 'new' to the NL scene after dropping their Fixed games the scene up there should be just fine at the higher stakes.

BUT, from what I've seen on both HPT and MSPT tournament FTs in the past .. it's VERY tight at the low stakes for those events. GL

thx my b, I thought I searched blackhawk on the forums yesterday and only saw stuff from 2 years ago but I just searched it again and found the thread ur talking about and others, i must of mistyped it or something or clicked some wrong box on where to search for the keyword or something

tysm appreciate the breakdown, that sounds wild that some players drop 10-40k in the game some nights maybe i cant imagine getting lucky on a night like that if they play 2/5 or maybe that'd be a reason to sit 5/10, and ya i just found out like 2 days ago that they dropped their $100 max bet and that got me all excited, poker trip right in the middle of the mountains sounds pretty pretty pretty good

Im a reg here in CO I can give you the rundown...

Mtts are dec as every other month theres some series that almost always follows the same structure... weekend kickoff that is normally $400(theres an MSPT this weekend actually and the kickoff is a $360, but norm is 4) and then there are some 1 days that run after kickoff ranging from $200-$500, and concludes with a main 2 weekends after the kickoff that is $1100-$1650, w $1200 seemingly the average. The kickoff will usually have $40-50k up top and main 60-70ish for our local series then 100ish when mspt comes.

Cash games arent as good as they were when we first got NL about 2yrs ago but they're still worth playing imo. Monarch has the best cg's with 5/10 running most thurs-sun and 10/25 kinda comes in waves sometimes its also every week but sometimes its spotty. Pretty much only NL unfortunately as PLO is still played in homegames in Denver predominantly. Theres a 2/5 big o on tuesdays I think is the day and maybe it will run some other day. You can also play 1/3 and 2/5 at Monarch which will run every day and a lot of the time 24/7 for awhile. Theres 1/3 and 2/5 at Ameristar as well but I'd say go to Monarch much better room and games.

As for where to stay... Monarch is a really nice hotel and the newest build up there. Rooms can be pricey on weekends. A bit cheaper across the street at Horseshoe(Caesars property and only place up there that is on the same system as reg LV hotels) and Ameristar rooms are chill and bit cheaper.

If you degen in the pits/slots at all you can pretty quickly get to status at Monarch where they will comp or significantly reduce the rate. Food is the best at Monarch too. Oh and no resort tax bs anywhere up there.

The best /bigger cash games are still homegames in town. If you play anywhere up in blackhawk youll likely hear ppl talking about something that happened at x game and can chime in and probably get an invite.

Monarch’s games seemed fine but it’s in the basement and smells like ass lol

Where you decide to play cash games in Black Hawk largely should depend on your self-perceived and actual skill level. The games at Monarch are definitely filled with more capable players, on average, than other rooms. The games play bigger than other rooms such as Ameristar and Bally's. I would compare the Monarch to the Wynn, Aria, or Bellagio in Las Vegas in terms of player ability. If you want softer games, go to Bally's or Ameristar, which also have match the stack.
