Dealer should have called the Floor over. You can call the Floor over as was mentioned but Dealer will probably give a long winded explanation anyway. I think 3 minutes is a long time and it is your right to call for the clock.

Given that the Dealer said "I'm going to give him another 30 seconds" I would have let it go until the 30 seconds passed and then I would have called for the Floor. I wouldn't take it up with the Dealer again.

Craziest clock I ever saw was at Parx Big Staxx tourney where a guy was wearing headphones. It was HU and villain was in the 10 seat. The other guy was in Seat 8 and I was not in the hand in Seat 6. Seat 8 bets on the river. Seat 10 raises. Seat 8 re-raises (but not all in) and Seat 10 tanks. Minutes go by and finally Seat 8 calls for the clock. The Floor comes over and starts the clock. Time is up and the pot is pushed to Seat 8 with the dealer mucking Seat 10's cards. Seat 10 removes his headphones and says he won the pot because Seat 8 didn't respond in time. When he is told that the clock was called on him he asked why nobody had told him. Seat 8's re-raise was clearly visible on the table so lol, but it was a shame.

My story!
I was playing in a regular 2-5 game on a Sunday when two players get into it & one tanks for a long time. HOWEVER, this being a Sunday, there were a lot of sports playing on the TVs in the room and the table was happy to watch sports and nobody calls the clock. After (admittedly) a long time the clock gets called by........ THE DEALER! This wakes people up and the tanker is pretty upset! He starts arguing that the dealer cannot call the clock! The dealer starts complaining how she's missing out on tips when the game is held up for so long! Other players kinda commiserate with her but the tanker points out that her situation doesn't change the fact that she has no right to call the clock! By this time, the floor has arrived and looks really unhappy once he understands the situation but then a player rescues the dealer by calling the clock himself.

The floor leaves but tensions are high as some players are annoyed at the dealer and stop tipping. Other players say they understand her position and over-tip.
The tanker is really angry & leaves soon thereafter.

I never have and never will call the clock on anybody. But I have had it called on me maybe a couple of times? One time I remember for sure I had AJ and flop was ace High but a paired board. First to act bets $40 I call and then the next player raised to like $250, I think we had about $3-400 total, at least I did in my stack. I was on a poker binge no sleep style so I feel like I took a quick mini nap while contemplating a call and woke up to the clock being called on me lol. I ultimately folded face up.

I actually put the phone on the felt in front of my chips. I have had it waved up onto the rail by one Dealer, but it's way harder to see the screen when on the rail than the felt.

If I'm not in the hand I go the route of 'forgiveness v asking' in this spot. GL

This one just happened three nights ago at MGM National Harbor (D.C.) It's a 1/3 game and seat 8 makes a river bet that isn't huge, maybe pot size of $80. The other player in the hand is in seat 5, to my immediate right (Asian man, age 40 to 70). He tanks.

After a couple of minutes, the dealer says "You know it's your action?" The player kind of nods. We wait.

Another couple of minutes go by and I look at him. He's stone faced, looking forward. I say "You know it's on you, right?" He nods again and continues looking at the pot. We wait.

Now I start a timer on my phone and tell myself I'll give him another minute. I mean, it's not like he's facing a $600 jam. As I get older, my remaining time becomes more precious to me. (In the 15 years I've been playing at casinos, I've called the clock maybe 3 times, and it was always for what I consider a small bet size.)

I hit the minute on my timer and call for the clock. The dealer calls the floor, who then goes through the entire explanation of how the 60 second countdown will work. At this point, seat 5 looks up at the floor and says "Oh, is it on me? I fold."

I'd be so caught of guard by a player having their phone on the felt that I would assume that it was a decoy phone / cheating device.

Yes, after Postle I'm sure Players are aware of where phones are more, but for the most part Players also know that it would have required more than just the phone to pull off what is alleged in that spot.

.. At least when I do it the phone is counting up, no down? GL
