The "$500" nl game has a max buy in of $1500 with 5/10 blinds. 150 bbs is not deep for a live game. With $7k you have plenty to take a shot at the $600 game (10/20nl), where you can buy as many chips as you like.

I am not a pro...yet but if you have the tilt in you I would recommend really working on your own acceptance for there being bad beats. Once you can accept that you will stop playing poorly after bad hands very easily. learning not to tilt is a big part of learning poker. I am a rec player but a winning rec player, currently low stakes. So, I can not say if I lost a $500 pot hat I would not tilt, I just hope I won't as I do not anymore when I play now. Accept the variance, because I assure you that you have sucked out many times too.
