A high percentage of dealers are former (or current) players. That means a lot are hypocritical degenerates. They act like an ******* while playing then complain about the same behavior when dealing.

It's embarrassing to say that I work with this said character, and she does this even when she plays at the house she works at.
And when she plays at another place I work at, she does throw temper tantrums... mucking out of turn, flashing cards left and right.
Where do they come from?

It's come to the point where she was whinny saying how she should have gotten up when I sat in the box, I replied with a smirk
"why are you still sitting there, I'm stuck here for half hour, you're not"

Then I find out she's a dealer at Bellagio.

How do you do that to a fellow dealer?
Funny, I saw someone on the Facebook dealer page complaining about the exact same thing!!

Sorry for limited facts, but a BBJ is being held back and the Dealer and the 'losing' player arrested for setting up 'the beat'.

Now I've heard of 'mechanics' when it comes to dealing but for a Dealer to set up not only his buddy with specific cards but also another player and the Board!! Now that's some (wasted) talent.

Apparently the eye in the sky had caught a false shuffle previously from this Dealer and he once again did a false shuffle when this hand started.

Can you imagine what the other players went through thinking they had a table share (or much 'less' the winner of the hand)? GL

According to pokernews it was Boomtown casino just outside New Orleans:

https://www.pokernews.com/news/2018/...kpot-29978.htm

No word on what the "false shuffle" involved - easiest way would be to switch out the deck for a pre-rigged one. Apparently he wasn't that good because surveillance noticed immediately during their review and did not pay it out.

Yeah, false shuffle is like blackjack card counting: if you got caught, you weren't any good at it.

"I didn't know the action was on me, I wait for the dealer to tell me before I act, I've played for 20 years and the dealer always tells me, it's his job!"

"OF COURSE I KNOW IT'S MY TURN! You're the stupidest dealer I've ever seen in 20 years! Don't you tell me it's my turn."

"This dealer never announces anything. How am I supposed to know it's my turn?

- one player, one down, in that order. Yes, I call my game. Every single time.

Then this hand happens: 5 way flop, 3 way to the river, V bets and gets called by one and another folds. V shows an ace to the folder (not the nuts but a decent hand) and throws his other card into the muck. He is talking about how great of a play he made that he apparently doesn't notice me (after a couple seconds because when this sort of thing happens the act of turbomucking his cards hasn't processed) slowly turn his face down in front of him and slowly muck it. He doesn't notice that the pot was pushed. Doesn't notice that the next hand was dealt. Doesn't say anything until 3 hands later.

We just started spreading this game regularly and he's a reg (I assume; he clearly has lots of live experience) from the room that used to get the game. Before the very first hand I knew he was That Guy ("hey dealer smile. Why aren't you smiling for me, you just smiled at her that's sexist." She is a woman I've never met before and was the only person that responded to my hello when I pushed, *******).

Sorry, had to rant. It's very rare that anyone gets under my skin but this guy did it. The floor threw me under the bus, too, so that's probably why this guy got me steamed.

I live very close to there. Their surveillance is not good.

Re: The Breakroom: low-content gaming employee chatter thread. See posting restrictions in Post

It has been awhile since I posted but I wanted to switch from the doom and gloom and post somthing that happened the other night that reminds me that this is a pretty good gig

I pushed into a tournament table that had some problems earlier in the night with a OMC and a hoodie kid getting into it with each other but I was able to turn it around.

About five minutes in someone brought up the upcoming baseball season and who he thought were the contenders and eventually the chatter turned into the best ball player they have ever seen. OMC mentioned that growing up in New York he got to see everyone from Joe Dimaggio to Willie Mays to Ted Williams and considered the Ted Williams the greatest hitter and Willie Mays the greatest all around player he ever saw. The young kid chimed in that he wished he had seen Teddy baseball play in his hayday. The whole table passed back n forth their favorite players when someone asked who I thought was the greatest. I mentioned that I always held Tony Gwynn as the greatest hitter with Ken Griffey Jr. as the best all around in my generation (Im in my mid to late 20's) We spent the next hour (for one of the few times what grateful for a missed push) everyone at the table was dicussing baseball and everyone at the table got along for the rest of the night dicussing baseball for the rest of the down. The hour was one of the best Ive had in awhile with the whole table immersed in the conversation about baseball and poker and made me realize that its amazing how many different people from all walks of life and different ages can come together at the table and join in on simular likes of poker and baseball.

So this live reg doesn't notice that you pushed the pot to a player he forgot was in the hand and then calls the Floor 3 hands later? And the Floor busts you up for mucking a mucked card?

Sorry, I am awake a little earlier than normal ... GL

Inevitably, every single person will announce it before every street. I don't correct them because 1- it's not hurting anything, 2- it's helping them calculate the pot, 3- it's helping them keep track of how many ppl they need action from and potentially causing less mistakes.
Had a tournament dealer this week clearly announce number of players, "change coming," bet size, etc. each street. I really appreciated it, saw more hands that blind level than any other.
