Alright, good to know you guys have seen it too. It's happened 2-3 times in the last two years. We use Angel, which are manufactured in Japan.

This is interesting. The cards aren't treated or cleaned at our property. We use them every other day for 3-4 weeks before they're ruined (due to the bac players who insist on using a modified bac "peel"), so they only get about 12 days use.
In another instance, I've had a couple crack in a quarter section, and the split followed a rounded curve that matched the design/logo on the top of the card. Your explanation, plus this odd crack pattern makes me wonder if it's something in the ink.
