I will just quickly point or glance when I get asked "Who raised?", "Who bet?" etc. Yeah I get optah but it saves a hell of alot of time, I don't get tempted to make snarky comments like, "Who raised? How about the guy with chips infront of him?" "Who's in the hand? How about all the players with cards infront of them?"
Ofcourse if we're on the flop in a PLO game and the pot is big and someone asks me who raised PF, then ofcourse I'm not going to divulge that information. In a 1/2 Holdem game my job as a dealer is pretty much baby sitting, so if I can save time and save upset, I'll try to.
But anyway, half the table will all jump up and answer the question anyway breaking the OPTAH rule. You can't tell me if someone informs seat 1 of the information he's after in your situation, you're going to impose a penalty upon them? In an ideal world no one would speak up, but it's just not like that.
Kind of like when a newby asks me..
Newby: "Dealer, how much is in the pot?"
Me: "As it's NLH, I'm afraid I can't tell you that" *While spreading the pot*
Newby: "What, that's stupid, why not?"
Seat 3, 5, and 8, none of which are in the hand, all lean forwards and start counting the pot. "£47, no, £48!"
Newby: "Cheers..." *Smiles at them, then glares at me*
Me: *Sigh.*
