YTF: Blinds, plz.

UTG: (literally one second later, to BB) You're the blind.

BB: (still steaming from last hand) Why is everyone rushing me today???

UTG: (mansplaining) They make more money if they keep things moving--

YTF: She's talking to YOU, UTG!

And god forbid you pick up an apparently empty glass or bottle that the owner isn't done with yet. That's the equivalent of snatching a baby......

Not quite, they really don't care about the baby that much, especially if it's over 100degrees that day

Side tables in most rooms, some allow cup holders on the table whereas others don't.

Most rooms require a player to provide their own pager .. it's called a cell phone. GL

PS ... But I also have a room where if you're not standing there to hear your name (twice in X time .. the busier the room, the shorter the time) then you are dropped off the list.

Borgata will call your name 2-3 times in a ten second window and if you don't respond almost immediately they move on to the next name.

Every room in South Florida has dozens of side tables. I can't think of a room that doesn't have them.

Maybe it is something like because of the small max bet, you shouldn't be able to lose the $300 buy-in in one hand, so this makes it so it would take at least 4 hands to bust.

Very scary hearing about the employee involved shooting in Vegas from this weekend. I have family that deals there.

I do sometimes worry about my safety at work.

It's the sort of thing that from time to time will happen in any type of workplace.

My opinion: you should separate a post that long into paragraphs, if you expect me to attempt reading it.

Dealer was in the wrong. Should they have gotten fired if that was the only incident? No. If I had to guess was that the only incident? Also no.

Being fired from the WSOP seems like a reward not a punishment

I look up at the screen, see three names on the list for $8-16 LHE: Tony, Paul, Chris.

I point this out to a New Yorker at my table as i push in and ask, "What is this, The Sopranos?"

She laughed a little. Then I added, "The last four people I told that joke to, didn't get it. I couldn't wait to get to this table to tell *you*!"

Now everybody lol'd.

As I type this, I'm thinking, is The Sopranos THAT old? Good thing the names weren't something like Jack, Benny, Phil, Don, Dennis, Mary, Rochester...

We got a Problem Child. All this happened in a ten minute stretch. I post the first two, to give context for the finale:

1. Player asks his neighbor about the fancy coin he's using for a card protector. Neighbor is delighted to tell the story, and talk about rare coins. An unusually pleasant conversation for strangers at a poker table... until Problem Child butts in with, "I wouldn't give you two cents for that coin."

Coin guy isn't taking the bait, but isn't going to take crap from this guy, either. "Then it's a good thing i'm not looking to sell it."

2. One or two hands later, another player opens for 4x, gets called, leads out on the flop, immediately gets raised and has to fold. Problem Child, who wasn't even in the hand, laughs. "How's that 4x raise working out for ya? Dumb-ass!"

Mr 4x looks shocked that someone would speak to him that way... and looks like he's not going respond.

I stop shuffling, turn to him (he's right next to me) look him in the eye, and ask, "What are you doing?"

His eyes go wide a little, like he's surprised to be confronted... then a look of understanding flashed over him. He hung his head and said he was sorry. It was genuine. But as we're about to see, he is who he is-- he just can't help himself.

3. Problem Child is facing an all-in bet, heads-up. He tanks briefly, then mutters something. Might have been "fold", might have been "call". I wait for him to move a card or chip, for further context, but he just sits there.

So I just sit there, too.

After a few seconds, I relent, on behalf of normal people: "What did you say, pal?"

"I said fold."

Heh. I would've guessed wrong. I took his cards and pushed the pot, while several folks voiced what I was thinking: "I thought he said Call!"

"Those two words sound similar, when muttered at such a low volume," I offered.

"They don't sound similar to me," grumbled Problem Child.

"Sure, YOU can hear the difference," I explained. "You're inside your head. We're out here."

Several players lol'd. And I dealt with no further disturbances from this guy.

... until I consider all the others. Then mine doesn't seem so bad.

My excuse for this non- poker post: it goes a long way to explain my grumpy mood. I think a lot of you can relate.

Our poker room is about to shrink for the 3rd time since the boom, just as traffic started to pick up again. Recent changes have led our pit games to dramatically increase drop + hold % but poker revenue hasn't scaled nearly as well.

WAITRESS: (carrying full tray of drinks) Service?

STONE COLD STIFF: I'll take a Mountain Dew. (No please, no thank you, and certainly no tip)

WAITRESS: Here you go!

SCS: (skeptical) Is it fresh?

(If I were the waitress, the entire tray would have been dumped right on his head.)

Guy at the next table must've been all-in. As the dealer ran out the board, he's standing and loudly calling, "Seven! One time! Seven! Seven ball! Seven ball, corner pocket!!! Five? (claps) That works, too!"

I chuckled. "Guy was playing the 7-ball, slopped in the 5, gets to keep shooting. APA rules?"

I assume it gave them a chop on A55 .. AQ v A7? Extreme focus or a trees/forest thing?

I semi-slow rolled a guy in PLO one time when I was so focused on my nut flush draw that I didn't realize I went runner-runner bigger boat. And of course I announced 'nut flush' when the River came out. GL

Satellite into $1100 main event, blinds 100/200, gets to the turn and guy tosses out one 5k chip and says "bet 2" and within a second the other guy tosses out two 1k chips. By rule, saying "bet 2" while betting with a single overchip counts as the smallest possible denomination in relation to the blinds, so it should've been a bet of 200. But it all happened so quick that there wasn't really much stopping it.

Do you rule it as a bet of 200 and the second guy raises it to 2000, with action back on the first guy who can now potentially raise or fold? Or do you just let it stand as a bet/call and warn the first guy after the hand to be careful when announcing his bets?
