Hello fellow degenerates!

I am looking to take a year off to **** around and enjoy myself and plan on integrating poker into my adventure to help fund my ****ery as I go

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good poker rooms around Europe that are worth playing lower stakes like 1/3 & 2/5? I'm looking for places that run games consistently throughout the week and have good action.

I've never played poker anywhere in Europe but have heard London has some good casino games.

Anywhere else I should consider putting in some hours?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

Hi

This is my opinion:

Start with one place, If you don't like it, go to the next one.

However, this is my list, the one on top is my favorite:

Mallorca,
I was there 2019 and the weather is one reason to recommend this part of Europe. Cash game was fun. As I can remember, there was no smoking close to the poker area...
Players didn't speak much english. Dealers did, so that was not a big problem. You understand when they trash talk you, pointing at you, say something and laugh

London,
Yes, the town has several poker rooms, I've been there several times and played at some of them, my favorite is the Vic (Grosvenor). The negative part is the weather, and for me as a member of the European Union, that UK isn't within the European Union anymore.

Malta,
Oh yes, again, the weather is one reason - but you have a small island where the casinons are pretty close. Lot's of poker festivals now and then. Floor is really good, dealers pretty friendly.

Bratislava (Slovakia),
Fly to Vienna, then go by bus or cab. I've played Casino Banco and I like the room, but they allow smoking close to the poker room, and that is the most annoying part. Cheap beer and good food.

With all above, I've had from good to fantastic staff (everything from dealers to floor)

Then we have Sweden:
You have the casino market controlled so you only have 3 official casinos in Sweden (Malmö, Gothemburg and Stockholm).
In Stockholm for example, you have cash games every day - and if you get tired of meeting the same people, you have a couple of bigger private, underground, games going on centrally.
Weather sucks unless you dont mind rain and snow from October to march or april...
Gothemburg has cash games more or less every day too,
Both places are really nice and I like them.
Cost of living is high compared to some of the mentioned locations above.

Denmark:
Casino Copenhagen - It was several years since I was there and I will never go back. Unfriendly staff, smoking accepted just by the poker table. This might have changed and If you go there, please report back if it is OK now.

All places listed above had the stakes you are asking for when I was there (except from Copenhagen, because I don't remember what stakes they had).

This is my list, I hope you can report back with where you ended up.

Like 90 min from Prague.... must be the middle of nowhere. You Europeans will never believe this, but over here they built an entire city in the middle of the desert hours away from any other population center of any substance, based entirely on gambling! Well, gambling and Californians who don't want to live in California....

I love Vegas and go there now and then, but;
Vegas has millions of people (and Californians) living there.

Rozvadov has less than 1000 people living there (or something like that).

My point is that if you want to do anything else then play poker - you probably have to travel to do whatever you want to do....

But I like your answer, it puts things in perspective.
