Game 1-3 in casino
10 handed. Btn in 7 seat
Couple of limps from 2&3 seat. Also 5 seat limps.
As btn first folds and action gets to SB, dealer has already pulled in the limps to middle. SB gets a look between what the heck did s happening and WTF.

Good or bad on the dealer to “speed” up the game by pulling limps?

Ok maybe the question is how bad in your opinion.

Btw. This was a dealer I used to believe was well above averag. Maybe amoung the best. Not sure how if I just am noticing more or if he has just given up. Really doesn’t seem to care. Been dealing there me over a decade.

This speeds up the game until either SB or BB raise. Then it slows down the game.

It is always extremely bad though. It is confusing to players who may not realize the blinds are still to act. And it is especially bad if the Big Blind is thinking about what they want to do and the dealer pulls in their blind as soon as the SB calls.

It can be even worse if the dealer is basically making a "statement" about reg players who he believes won't be raising. Especially if there are non-regs in the game.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the worst bad... Its a 7. It's pretty bad. Easy to correct if there is a raise, but there's no good reason to do it. It's against standard dealer procedure and worthy of at least a talking to.

While this exact offense isn’t the worst thing I’ve heard a dealer does, I can only imagine what other terrible habits this dealer has to “speed things up”.

Very bad. Even if SB/BB don't raise, they could later be confused about which players are or aren't in the hand.

Annoyingly bad. I HATE it when the dealer takes away my chips when I need change or in OP's situation. Now BOTH of us have to remember that. Just keep the damn thing simple and leave those damn chips alone!

Def a top 5 annoyance for me. The last thing I want is Dealer pulling in 'completed' bets which may or may not make my raise look enticing to call based on the pile of chips in the middle.

Very surprised a vet Dealer would start to do this unprompted. Possible change in protocol?

I also see Dealers who want to make change in the blinds 'right away' after they finish the deal. Depending on where the B is this can be distracting and also may be futile depending on any raises. Most of them leave a red bird alone during 1-2-5 PLO since it's probably going into the middle anyway. I can see it both ways .. don't think there's a 'winner' in that discussion. GL

Making change is a waste of time. This procedure would make me say something, and I hardly ever annoy the dealer about procedure. It’s just awful in so many ways, not the least of which it is extremely confusing and wastes way more time than it saves.
