Whatever hand you put her on to justify you calling that turn bet, that river ace was a winner for you, not a loser. What were you possibly hoping was going to fall on that river?

Just to clarify here, you had to put her on a 3 or an underpair or a gutshot draw because you’re drawing dead against an ace, so the ace hitting the board makes you the winner against the minuscule range of hands you had to put her on to justify calling that turn int he first place, so again, how did the ace make your hand worse here?

Not sure how this got to 53 posts .. I didn't read any of them, but I may have to later.

House rules would have to be applied to your 'dark bet' since once she bets out you can pull your bet back and reconsider. If you were first to act then it may be a tougher sell.

If action was complete on the Turn before you pushed out the stack then I'm seeing this as a bet whether it reached a 'betting line' or not. The Dealer should've announced it as such. But again, the opponent betting out may have let our OP off the hook.

One could see this as angly as well, especially if there's a language barrier, in an effort to get someone to pre-expose their hand. I'll see this once or twice a session so I know how to react to it. But it could be an interesting spot for the less experienced. GL

The purpose of poker rules is to protect honest players, not angle shooters. So if your 'ruse' convinced the dealer and other player, and could reasonable have indicated either a dark bet or dark call, the floor should 100% hold you liable for that last bet.

My opinion is that she thought he was betting dark and she was reacting to that. I also believe she thought his bet was binding, whether she realized it was oot or not. Hard to be certain not being there. Sorry for the late return to the party, was on vacation.
