23 Strip Casinos in 24 hours? 23 Strip Casinos in 24 hours?

My count on allvegaspoker.com shows that there are 23 casinos with poker on the strip (Hooters is on that list but doesn't count). I am travelling to Vegas for a week by myself for the first three days then buddies are coming for the weekend. My question is would it be possible to play in every poker room within a 24 hour span?

Now would it be time well spent? No
Would it be +EV? Probably not
Would it be a story for the grandkids? Strongly doubt it
Would it make an interesting trip report? You tell me.

My guess is that it would be about 16 hours of playing and 8 hours of cashing in/moving to next room/wait list. This would be a weekday so crowds won't be too crazy.

Start at the Mandalay and play 45 minutes... move on to Luxor and repeat... to Excalibur and repeat. All the way back up to the Strat then come back down again.

Again, I realize there is absolutely no worth to doing this except for the sake of doing it. But it might be an interesting way to kill a day.

Thoughts? Please tell me I'm an idiot for suggesting such a thing. I've always wondered if this were possible but I hate myself for wanting to actually attempt it.

It's definitely possible to do if your timing isn't unlucky (low wait times, games running that you want to play) but why not do it over the three days before your friends arrive? Then you might actually enjoy it.

I don't think 15 minutes in between each casino is enough time, assuming that that time os for the whole trip from table to table.

I'd like to see someone get up from a table at Mirage, cash out, run to TI, get a seat, and be dealt a hand in only 15 minutes. And those two casinos are really close to each other. Many others are not.

I suppose you could increase yoru chances by intentionally getting stacked at your last hand at each casino, so you don't have to waste any time cashing out.

I wouldn't do this unless someone offered as a propbet for a meaningful amount.

You won't get to play much poker and you will wear yourself out(lots of walking...no sleep).

If you want to play at a bunch of rooms play at a bunch, but do it over a couple days or more. Honestly a lot of the smaller rooms probably aren't worth visiting.

If you do it on the graveyard shift, maybe. But as others have said it won't be fun.

20 years ago I played one hand of blackjack at each casino on the strip. I went from the Hacienda to CircusCircus to Sahara back down to the Trop.

That was back when there were a ton of small casinos, but easy walking down the Strip and easy access to each casino.

If you do it, write a trip report. GL.

edit: skip the Strat or you really won't have enough time.

I agree. It can take you 15 minutes just to get from the poker room to the front of the casino! if you're walking from casino to casino (yeah, you can't do it for all of them but for some you can) it can take much longer.

Even on the tram from Mandalay to Luxor it can be minimum 10 minutes not counting getting from the poker room to the tram and from tram to poker room. then you have to find the friggin room sign up, etc. etc. I'd say 30 minutes minimum between casinos on average and even that's probably pushing it.

OP:

1) Turn this into a prop bet, and it will get very interesting.

2) Call ahead for each place 1 hour before you want to sit down. This will decrease the wait times.

I think you'll get in one hand at each game.

Another factor going against you is that not all those rooms are going to have games going 24 hours.

Nothing WRONG with the plan. If it's gonna float OP's boat, do it. There will be some significant logistical issues. Like folks said, you will never succeed if you play 45 minutes at each room--very unlikely to happen. You are gonna have some troubles with finding games in many rooms weekdays from like 2am to 1pm, and in some rooms you may find one, maybe two tables going at 4pm with a 3-person wait list that will take 30 minutes to get through. And I recommend being in good enough condition to be able to jog from casino to casino since you're really gonna have to try to cram 23 rooms into more like 11am to 2am (hint... see references in other threads to TI and Paris no longer being 24-hour operations).

But start at Bellagio late morning (where they WILL have games going) and play a couple hands and move on to Caesars. 15 hours later finish at Monte Carlo. You'll have walked like 10 miles and be good and tuckered out, probably poorer, and will have stayed too short at any room to have learned anything about 'em.

I prefer the idea of taking your time and doing it over a two or three day span so you can actually play a while at each place.

you should buy in for the minimum at each casino and then all in every hand until called, then leave regardless of the result

Let me get this straight, you are in Las Vegas and your going to waste your time running from casino to casino to play a hand or two, because you can say you did. What a way to waste your time in Vegas. Play some, drink some and do whatever floats your boat. Vegas time is precious, do not waste it.

Have you considered that this might be exactly what floats his boat?

I'll bet against this being possible

Or buy for ~$200 and all-in the first hand and cash out. You probably won't need to even get chips many places. Just sit with cash, tell 'em you're buying in for $200, and push before the chip runner has time to get to the table. I wanna see the looks on people's faces as you leave with your $3 of profit. You probably can do this 23 times and not get called. Do it with the minimum, though, and you are likely to find AQo and JJ calling.

Take a camcorder along.

A little off topic, but I had 24 hours to kill one time and went to every casino from Strat to Mandalay, played roulette, and pocketed one roulette chip from each place. I got them framed and have a pretty cool souvenir. Especially as places are closing. I since found out your not supposed to take them. (Oops.)

Why dont you do it over a couple of days ? Result will be almost the same (exept you wont be able to say it has been done in 24h obv) and it will be a lot more enjoyable.

I also think this is a good idea, and I'd also take the bet against it succeeding.

I like the all-in proposal, as long as you have the bankroll and emotional stamina to cover the variance.

Thank you all for your responses.

First, as I said in the OP, I understand that it would be stupid, -EV, exhausting, and pointless. But why not? I'm not into clubs by myself, not into luxury dining experiences by myself, not into shows by myself... get the picture? Again, it's not on my list of top things to do but burning one day out of the eight that I'm there doesn't seem too crazy to me.

Second, 45 at each location and 15 minutes of commute is likely cutting it close. What about 30 minutes each? Or do it by hands... 20 then move on or two full orbits. Then dealer strength comes into play.

Third, scheduling might be an issue but I think I could plan it were I hit some of the slower rooms during better hours.

Fourth, there is not way that I could possibly do this without prop bet incentive... I'm listening.

Third, there is no way that I would actually go thru with this without prop bet incentive. Odds? How can I prove that I did it? Rules?

I'm thinking that it will be more like 10 minutes of play and 50 minutes of travel/waiting/cashout.

Pushing the first hand everywhere you go might actually make this craziness +EV.

I can think of some ways to cut the travel time if this becomes a prop bet.

I'd definitely bring some snacks or something with you, it could be inconvenient to have to find somewhere to order food and wait for it. I also think drinking a shot at each casino might make it more interesting.
