What's Your Biggest Strength, What's Your Biggest Weakness? What's Your Biggest Strength, What's Your Biggest Weakness?

I thought it would be interesting to hear what people felt their biggest poker strength as a player is and how they developed it into such a strong aspect of their game. And then also what one of their biggest weak parts of their game is and how they are working on improving that weakness.

For me my strength and weakness are quite connected. Personally I've always felt I've been able to get a good read on people rather quickly, the types of players they are, and what hand ranges they typically are playing. I've developed that over the years from a lot of online playing back in the day and also I believe I naturally have some ability to get reads on people in everyday life rather quickly and get a feel for who they are.

One of my biggest weaknesses though is then not doing more with those reads. I'll see what's going on, yet bury my head in the sand and continue just to play my ABC poker game instead of acting on those reads more often and exploiting players as much as possible. I'm trying to make a couple of new plays a session based on those reads and see how they turn out, slowly getting my confidence up for such plays and rejuvenate my game into one that is constantly figuring out how to exploit all information I receive.

Thanks for sharing!!

My biggest strength is also perhaps my biggest weakness.
Or, perhaps more accurately, until lately, because I've become a bit more adventurous lately. maybe too adventurous.

That would be a natural personality trait of caution. I've always been on the cautious side. That naturally translates to being tight when it comes to poker.
Back in the so called day, I guess, when I played a lot on the internet, like most folks, I simply followed the basic poker theorems and played a tight pre flop strategy.
Without really having any particular poker skills or knowledge, I won a lot of money this way. I simply raised with A K, for example, and would win an incredible amount of money from people who called my raises, consistently, with the likes of hands like A 9 or K 8.
That, unfortunately, over time, had also become my biggest weakness over time as the game changed and I ended up folding way too much and becoming, over time, a pushover.

But, watch out poker world, i'm a new man with a new plan!

'won a lot of money'
That's actually not entirely true. Without disclosing specifics, I actually didn't really win any huge sums of money, like hundreds of thousands, for example.
For me and the investment of the 50 dollar sponsor gift, of my initial deposit, I won a lot.
Just didn't want to give any false pretenses.

I think you're my bizzaro world doppelganger. I have confidence and math skills, but I get bored and lack patience which leads me to take risks that, were I analyzing analytically (like going over some stranger's HH on this forum) I'd immediately call out as obviously terrible plays.

Biggest strengths--leaving the table when ahead, not going on tilt, reading players
Biggest weaknesses--ingrained nittiness, not being sticky enough, and not making the correct raises on rivers

Weakness: I post on poker forums on major holidays instead of spending them with my family!

Getting off losers is strength, continually I see players paying off on hands THAT THEY KNOW AREN'T GOOD or on other occasions that are so weak they are just auto calling because they have top pair or overpair.

My weakness: being risk averse and too play-it-safe when ahead. Limits wins badly sometimes. Trying to work on it, even thinking about getting coaching on it.
