Fighting a desire to "restart"

Since I started playing poker, I have had a hard time with deleting PT databases as a way of giving myself a "fresh start". It has been very rare that I've built a database of more than 10k hands. I have had this issue in other aspects of my life such as restarting strategy based video games. Has anyone experienced a mental issue like this?
The urge to "restart" usually hits when I make a poor play that doesn't pan out (getting all in when I know I shouldn't, or taking a shot at a higher stake then my bankroll management plan allows for [even if it goes well], for example). In video games, the urge strikes whenever I realize I could've done something slightly better in a prior round, or if I miss some kind of item that is impossible to go back for.
I started my current database with my new computer on 10/19 and my plan is to never manipulate the DB or restart in any way since my "fresh start" was this computer. I've never changed anything on this database and I never intend to.
My biggest questions are if anyone else fights urges that this sounds similar to, and if so, how you cope with the desire to wipe everything clean and start from a fresh slate.
I have been doing well for the past month or so, but I'm worried that once I go on tilt at some point I'll be reaching for that database wipe before I know what I'm doing.
Thanks for taking the time to look at this. This is something that affects my life outside of poker as well, so any and all thoughts are welcome.

Deleting your bad play seems like a way of hiding that you might not be a winning player. When you run pure, you never delete your hud I bet.
