I'm just wondering for how many live sessions in a row have you run bad? And has it tilted you? And what can you do to prevent it from tilting you?
Personally I understand that running bad is part of poker and can last especially long live. I understand that with my mind but.. emotionally it still tilts me. I play $1/$2 live so there's a lot of horrible players. It's very frustrating to sit at a table for 6 hours, play perfectly and lose to these horrible players over and over again due to running bad. Then repeat this 5 sessions in a row. That's when the tilt monster comes out.
I guess conceptually I understand what's going on but I guess I just needed to whine to someone.
I find that I used to sometimes tilt when a winning player made a horrible play and won. I have top 2 pair, they chase a huge bet on the turn with bottom pair or a gutshot, and the river hits when I'm already pot-committed and he jams.
It doesn't really matter how good or bad they are. If you're getting your money in on good spots, you're going to turn up a winner eventually.
Referring to your opponents as good or bad is the egos way of magnifying losses. Because now instead of just losing, you lost to a huge donk whom you should never lose to. It tilts you more because you've added content in order to make the loss seem worse.
So how many losing live sesssions in a row you've had max? And mention the avg hour duration of the session. I think that's actually the most interesting question posed by this thread. The rest is pure whining by yours truly
