I find myself at times takin my action really fast if say im not happy with how the villian has acted, like if i look back at a hand i can logically kno what to do yet in game time, say villan donks the river n might be like oh **** off n click call rather then time n think about ranges, tendencies etc its not all the time maybe when im tilted, actually now i think it must be when im slight tilted, I guess I need to break this cycle, i guess when ur losing sometimes u want to just call and lose so u can moan about how the poker gods are ****in u so hard atm lol anyone got any tips on breakin this cycle? I need to implement some sort of ten second rule but its like sometimes i call before even thinking

i think one of the best things any player can do do is just use their whole time bank whenever necessary (not the 'true' time bank but the one you get in every hand for 20 secs or whatever)

sometimes five extra seconds of thinking can be the difference between burning money and doing the right thing

It's great that you're self-aware.

To lose the habit of auto-acting in game you can try one of two things:

1. Be incredibly self-aware and notice the urge to act quickly in real time.
2. Create a new automatic habit when you notice your emotions flare up.

The second method is likely easier because habits are simply formed through repetition.

PS And, yes, EVillain makes a really good point. Slowing down has tons of merit.

I don't play online, but I find myself doing the same thing live. Sometimes when I'm weakest is when I am fasted to move money across the line. It is a problem I'm continuing to work on. Take a breath before you click.

Keep your hand off the mouse when you need to take a non standard decision, like facing a big bet or something.
