Revenge! When Is It Over?

Here is a question for any one of us who after losing a pot wants to revenge himself upon the villain in question.
When is your revenge complete? Do you want to 3bet his 2bet and take it preflop? Is that enough?
Do you want to win as many chips off him as he won off you?
Do you want to bluff him out of a pot?
When is it over?
Looking forward to your replies.

Revenge doesn't happen. You just walk away; get your money back from others. When you do return the compliment to the player in question, it's just a wry smile. Your energy is better placed watching his reaction to your victory; you challenge is simply to repeat it.
If you are seeking revenge you are displaying a weakness that others will capitalise upon.

It's poker... Everyone is just trying to win.
They aren't after hurting you at a personal level and if they are, it is just their way of wanting to win the game.
I've had people in some live games threaten to hit me from the other side of the table after ive trapped them with my trips and other things like this. You just have to understand that it is all just a game that people want to win... that is it.
Just like 2 Olympic Boxers in a Boxing ring: They will fight and fight, put a bit of a show on for the crowds outside but in the long run they both respect each other and know it is just their sport and it is nothing personal.
Try to get into this mindset...

If you're playing to take revenge on an opponent and letting that affect your play, you've already lost

You are all of course right!
However, I was rather hoping to get an insight from those who do experience the desire for revenge.

I try thinking of poker hands in terms of situations, not players. In heads up lots of fish like to hit and run. So, when they jam A4 and hit their 30% hand vs my QQ, it's not a big deal. Revenge in poker is so silly. It's like drinking poison and expecting the other person to get sick.
