Put a guy on tilt, by not betting! Put a guy on tilt, by not betting!

Playing 1/3 at The Orleans with a $450 effective stack

I am on the button with AsJs

V in MP

V open raises to 12, I call and both blinds call

4 way to flop of KT4 all clubs

Checks around to me and I put in a $25 bet
Blinds fold, V calls

Turn is Qd.
V checks and I bet $45
River 4s
V checks and I check.
V slams the table with pocket 4s, for 4 of a kind and I tabled broadway. V begins to yell at me for not betting and telling me what a bad play it was to not bet and he went on and on for a good 5 minutes. He kept asking me why I did not bet. I just asked him, what would call me? I just told him, this is not my first rodeo... and the only hand that would call a bet from me would be a better hand, and I was happy to get to showdown.
Anyway, he was steaming and was felted within the next orbit, after playing rags, a few hands in a row. So, even though I lost the hand, I felt like I won that battle..
Anyone ever tilted someone for not betting?

F that guy. I hate players who coach and rant at the table. It's bad for the game and makes new players feel uncomfortable.

Damn, that guy is probably broke af. Probably in massive debt and taking his emotional problems out at you while sitting at the poker table. Sad guy with problems.

Next time someone asks you why you didn't bet, you could make up some superstitious reason to put him on even more tilt.

"Why didn't you bet that river"
"Normally I would, but the number 4 has been really bad for me lately."
"That has literally no affect on the outcome of the hand."
"Well, certain numbers feel more dangerous to me"
"Oh my god, you are so ****ing stupid"
"No, I'm not. I trusted my gut instincts. My gut instincts told me that the 4 was bad."
"That is idiot logic, but whatever"
"My animal instincts gave me fear, and fear is an important emotion for survival. It is also helpful at the poker table. I think it is a great tool that I've added to my poker arsenal."

I like two approaches, either pretend to be super clueless about the game or pretend to think you're really good while giving out completely flawed logic.

Always a risk of checking the nuts, and he ran that risk lol. IDK why people get mad tho. Slow playing never guarantees you money. Should have value bet you, unless he had reason to believe you were an aggressive player who would try buying the pot on the river.

These people who get upset are the same people who beg for calls with their aces then yell at you for calling when you catch 2 pair lol. Pissed if you call, pissed if u dont

It makes no sense. He should be thanking you for saving him some money.
