This does not mean the results of each or any trial was random, just that our lack of knowledge of the causations is best expressed as a probability.
That is nonsense.

Many of us play to our level of incompetence -- reaching the limit we can't quite beat, or can beat for a little but where variance will be high -- kind of like Drucker's idea about business execs.

The folks who play higher have some ability to exploit bad players and live games -- that's really where profits come from when many players are competent.

I believe the results of these trials are probabilistic only to our best ability to understand them ... and this does not mean they are truly random at all. It means our information as to causation and influence is limited and we generalize each trial, whose factors are unknown, into a set of millions of other trials that we regard as similar (though of course aren't) ... thus having a handy formula for likelihood of outcomes.

The idea of running into a level where we can't win is so obvious in all pursuits that I'm not sure why you are saying it. If the point is and then we tend to stay at the level of competition where we can no longer win, then, I'm sure many do that ... but it seems idiotic.

Not sure why you are making a category for "folks who play higher." There are horrible players who play in the biggest games. If were gonna say expert players exploit bad players of course yes ... but folks who play higher exploit them seems dubious.
