Mixed Mindset When on a Massive Heater

I am a 21yrold PhD student who frequently plays live 1/2, 1/3, and sometimes 2/5 if the game is good enough. Recently this summer I have been on a massive heater and have dedicated more time to playing as I do not have classes and only work part time in the research lab.

I have won 20/23 past sessions and 10 straight now. Almost every session where I have won, I have won big and the losing sessions have been small or at most half a buy in.

I'm not saying that I do not expect to win long term or anything, but recently I am entering sessions expecting to lose big. I understand that 'sessions' are just one long time compiled of your poker career but I can not help the feeling of expecting to get coolered when entering big hands. On one hand sometimes I feel so confident and play a really good game and sometimes I feel I am gun-shy at certain moments b/c the feeling of "I'm due to lose anyday now".

Anybody else ever experience this? I am hoping to try to overcome this mindset and just continue to play at the best of my ability.

Re: Mixed Mindset When on a Massive Heater

Yes, I experience this which leads to weak passive play. I play online, so 100BB is not hard to get all-in.

I look for a spot to make a good all-in bet, usually a good bluff spot but maybe thin value, and jam it all in. A good coin-flip with AK is perfect.

So, I am not spewing but I shake off that weak-tight and get back to the poker that is winning 10 straight sessions. Solid aggressive poker.
