Just wondering if anyone on here meditates? If so how long have you been doing it and what changes have you noticed in your game and in life in general, if any? I am going to start doing a quick (10-15 min) meditation each day but am curious if anyone is doing this on 2+2.

I couldn't find any direct threads about this in the search, but if there is please throw up a link

i have alluded to mediation in a few of my posts in this sub-forum,
BB = Basic Buddhism

i have practiced 2 kinds of meditation for some time:

the mindfulness of breathing (counting to ten in four sections, and always returning to the counting once you realise you focus has wandered from your breath)

and

metabahavna (more difficult for me, transfering a love, again in 4 sections, loving your enemy as much as your best friend)

more info per 'friends of the western buddhist order'

as to what effect this has had, gawd knows...

it is more for others to judge, perhaps, rather then your self

Thanks for your thoughts, I will check out the sub forum you mentioned for sure. Has anyone read, "turning the mind into an ally"? It was recommended to me and it looks pretty good so far (on first chapter).

I'll let you all know my thoughts as I go...

Too lazy to search for you but there have been tons of threads in this forum and there was a good one in NVG, one in OOT, hell, there might have been one in SMP as well.

Can you please explain the "the mindfulness of breathing " in fully more detail for me please. And what type of meditation is the easiest to do. My problem is the lack of concentration/focus on my meditation. What can I do to erase the thoughts that pop up in my head and focus on th concentration of my meditation.

if you look at
'friends of the western buddhist order'
they can/will explain it far more clearly than i,
not sure where you live, but there may well free lessons near you,

its split into 4 parts, looking at the breath as it enters your body, while counting..
and errr...
thats it

In a way I understand. The meditation I use to do was to place my focus into an imiginary flame(which you imigined in your head), you must control the flame and movement by your breathing patterns. Over time, you must controll the flame without even concentrating on your breath but still breathing. It would work for a while until thoughts came into my head. I was told that If thoughts came into your head, then you were suppose to grow another state of mentality in which you created a dump system to dump your thoughts in as you tried to concentrate on the flame. But I found it too difficult and gave up on it but I think I'll return back to it.
