Someone who has lost everything sounds like they need help on quitting as they most likely have a problem and it's solution is not to "study more"
I'm not suggesting that. What I'm saying is that after you have played for a long time and have poor results, it most likely means that you are a poor player, and if you're going to continue playing than it would probably be worth the time and effort to improve your game.
There are many players, and I talk about this in my psychology book, who play poorly but because of the large short-term luck factor present in poker can fool themselves that they actually are good players. But since the short-term luck factor dissipates over time and your medium to long-term results are poor, you're not playing well.
