Do you sometimes makes weirds plays against regs or fishs to mess up with their brain? What kind of play?
The list can be huge, but a couple of examples: donking 1bb (weak or strong), donk overbet flop, min 3bet, donkshove flop in 3bet pot, 4bet shove, etc, etc.
Sometimes I can make a call because the play "doesnt make sense" and, oh wait, he have the nuts.
I wonder if somes regs just want to mess up with my brain.
Thanks for sharing.

Yeah. Sometimes I play by only doing these kind of moves. My opponents usually exploit it with their patience.
I think it could work with fishy players because they are missing a big picture of the game and way often spaz out. If you want to try it against regulars then you better have a ready plan or you will end up bleeding out a lot of money.
Lead overbet flop sounds interesting, never thought about it lol.

The unorthodox play is less familiar for regs but they understand many of them also and there are simple solutions against many of them, that are also tells at times and cost money.
If you slowplay, one way or the other, it won’t on average cost me any more than vs the standard play, as can be calculated.
If you tip off the value of your hand with the size and do exactly what the pool does there, you are not going to do as well as you could vs a reg.
It is important not to do the obvious too often and as a reg, I focus on balance there, that means I do the obvious with a range and the non obvious with a range, or then I exploit, as the regs or some regs can be exploited, especially on some homogenous pools.

Are we talking about screwing with people or screwing with people’s poker game...there’s a difference
FWIW I find myself doing better in poker when not screwing around at all.

Mostly when I get bored.
I remember a time where I 3-bet KK from the SB and check/raised on K72r or something like that. The reg jammed all-in with nothing.

yeah just start raising every hand pre and soon as you do it with two hands in a row they don't believe you.
In mtt's if you start to run good pre and hold you can build a huge stack.

I don't, but it's mostly because I can't really see these plays being more profitable in the long-term.
Donking 1bb for example is supposed to do what? Make him bluff you when you have the nuts?
I'm not convinced that anything is going to ever be more +EV than solid poker.

I know a play that is kind of cool that is a bit unorthodox. It is when you 3-bet on a flop where you shouldn't versus a specific opponent with ace high. What happens is they assume you have a nutted hand and split their range into 3 actions. Their mediocre stuff and garbage gets folded, their premium hands either go all-in or fold. Their draws just call. Then you get to showdown with ace high and win sometimes. I haven't done this in a long time, but it does creep up from time to time.

nice thread:
I do this when I am bored mostly and dont mind losing 2-3 BI for fun
1)
if i had got good cards and RFI/3bet say 3 times in a row , 4th time I get AA, I open limp/flat call. There is always one reg - who smells weakness and squeezes.. --and rest is history
2) I do this vs regs who steal wide LP, auto cbet 1/3 pot everytime on any board . defend from BB, board comes low favouring BB range, I keep check raising 2-3 times with Air and show it when they fold. 4th time I do with sets+ - they can't resist
