I can't win on the weekend

I don't know what this is, it's bizarre. Exactly what the title says, I can't win when I play on the weekend, even though this is clearly when the softest games are happening. What is this?

You made a thread better suited for the Bad Beat & Variance forum (BBV), but put in Psychology for some reason.

You've asked a rather meaningless question. It will pretty much get flamed/trolled wherever you post it. So my advice is save yourself some time/hassle. Short answer is, stop being superstitious. Poker is a mathematical game of skill. Get good or stop evoking gremlins to explain your bad results.

Re: I can't win on the weekend

This is a good post because in years past I ran badly in the wilder games and I "didn't want to gamble." It took me a while to realize that poker is gambling (seriously) and that has helped me battle the degens but definitely more degens on Friday that's for certain.

You can be a dick to me all you want, but I put it in psychology because I think the reason behind this could have to do with a psychological barrier. Maybe I feel bad taking money from really bad players, like the ones you typically see on the weekend.

I'm being honest w/ you. You probably think you're a solid/winning player, but aren't, and are scapegoating something nebulous. JMO.

Unless Chicagodude is understanding your situation better than I am, I don't think the question makes a whole lot of sense, & I'm not sure what you want to hear.

Re: I can't win on the weekend

You do know that even good players can go through 100's of hours of break even or losing poker, right? I don't think you understand how variance over small/large samples actually works. Maybe you think you do, but I seriously doubt you have enough hours logged for this to be a meaningful question in the first place. Hence, I'm being a bit dismissive.

Why do you think you're good enough to beat these games in the first place? How many hours/hands have you actually logged? Blaming "weekends" before truthfully evaluating your own skill/volume overall is pointless.

You're bullying me in a very obvious way. I'm not an idiot. This is the last post I'm putting here.

I never said you were an idiot. You're probably smarter than me in a hundred ways. I simply think you're far more ignorant about poker than you believe you are. I'm the bad guy for pointing that out? Please.

My suggestion? Stop being defensive, and you might learn something valuable here. I'm serious when I ask you how many hours you have logged on weekends vs. weekdays, etc. Your sample size matters.

PS. I'm not dwelling on the pithy/snarky comment that you immediately deleted prior to this last one, so let's move on, shall we?
