yeah, focus on the table all the time, watch every play, every comment and time taken to make a bet, if you get bored after some time, simply take a break.

Re: How to maintain focus

If youre looking for longer periods of concentration might I recommend heg biofeedback, it's a device you use to train the brain to move more bloodflow to the prefrontal cortex of your brain thus causing longer periods of focus and motivation. This product used to be sold by Dave Asprey of the bulletproof executive but he stopped selling them due to supply issues.https://youtu.be/G9xhqY13cXA https://brain-trainer.com/answers/ge...arted/heg-fda/ Its great technology. I dont really recommend caffeine pills because of how it can cause anxiety and crashes in people who are caffeine sensitive.

Re: How to maintain focus

Im always listening to some music while playing
In a situation like this i would constantly be taking extensive notes and looking up stats not displayed in your HUD to save you from using your time bank up

I have tried this and it works, but techno and world are too much. You want the same tempo and rhythm for consistent play. Studies have shown people drive faster to rock. But you don't want it so slow that you fall asleep to it.

Ketogenic diets, giving up sugar, dairy and gluten work well for my focus

Re: How to maintain focus

From a thread in the beginner's forum:

Quote:
Someone asked a question about focus in another thread. Here's what I think:

In cashgames it's easy to lose focus due to running hot or cold and playing well or playing badly. However due to the option of rebuying there's always some room to recover.

In tourneys when rebuying isn't an option it's easy to lose focus for the same reasons as well as the added pressure of survival.

I think each situation has a unique solution.

In cashgames sometimes the solution is to quit. However if you decide to keep playing when you know your focus is lacking, I think you should go back to the basics. Tight preflop ranges and pot odds and ev estimation.

In tourneys quitting isn't an option so I recommend you do your best to keep your eyes on the prize and mentally increase the value of survival. Again, tight preflop ranges, pot odds, and ev estimation. In tourneys ev estimation means something different because the chips in your stack are worth more than the chips in the pot. This means passing on the more marginally profitable opportunities.
