How to Deal with a Psycho Player - Page 2 - Psychology in Poker and Gambling

It's been 3 weeks now and i think he's gone for good!

I think the fellow had been kicked out of several casinos before ours and he may have to drive to Milwaukee if he still wants to play (i hope).

I'm gonna go ahead and guess you're a doormat. That guy isn't your problem, the doormat thing is. Step your self esteem game up.

Yeah if somebody comes across as a psycho i avoid them. I do not argue with them or "try to win them over." You can't win them over. They're nuts. Also, I'm not going to get in a physical fight with someone unless my life is threatened. Further, I don't want to get kicked out of a poker room.

I think the commenter above just inserted something into my post that wasn't there and then responded to it. We see this a lot in society. Some people have these emotional reactions to things and then start to spew.

Yesterday he sits in our game and doubles up off a maniac and then won't stop talking. He's telling everyone he used to be a professional boxer. He ignores me and I ignore him. I'm not sure if he remembers me though. He's definitely not a schizophrenic--too much affect...but very sick I felt. Brain damage from boxing?

My best friend at the casino is a 74 yo WG legend of the game. Yesterday the psycho starts harassing him about being a rock. My friend says, "You shouldn't talk about my game during a hand?"
Psycho says, "what are you going to do about it? I don't like you. I don't like you."
My friend says nothing.
Psycho adds, "Yeah we'll you're not going to do anything about it. Want to go? Want to go?"
He ruined the mood at the table.
Then he got up and started shadow boxing. I am not making this up. Seriously, my friend then left in disgust. He felt the guy was so unhinged he might get up and whack him.
I was revolted. The guy was threatening a 74 yo man. WTF?
I left shortly thereafter. This guy is radioactive. How do I handle this? Any advice? It's a small room.

the casino has to take charge of removing the citizen, a person not adds nothing
the game demands respect, we're no longer in 30 years

The shadow boxing stuff in regard to the old man is a bit over the top, but what's wrong with telling people that you don't like them and don't wish to talk to them? Maybe you send out bad vibes that he picked up on?

There's a similar guy at the poker room I used to visit in my country
90% of players/dealers hate him so when he sat down everyone sat out
so the host ended up banning that guy, easy game.

No man, he disappeared for 2 months and was back on the day I posted that comment. He's catatonic now and says nothing. Both times I got seated next to him and changed seats. All I've heard from him is asking a guy yesterday, "are you imitating me with the way you check?"
The guy was like "No" and that was the end of it. We'll see. When he's here he plays everyday.

Sounds medicated, likely with multiple diagnosed mental issues. Let us know if the skill of this player increases or decreases, purely anecdotally of course, small sample size yadda yadda.
