Has being too confident ever played against you? Has being too confident ever played against you?

I consistently try to analyze my decision making process and observe behavioral deviations.
Lately I observed that winning a big pot in cash games or being on an winning streak gives me a boost in confidence which further alters my decision making process, in the sense that I become more aggresive. Since ICM doesn't matter for cash games, the aggression is not justified.
I gain a false sense of control over the random events happening at the poker table or over the other players actions.

Far too often this has played against me and I made some really bad calls which erased a very positive session.

Have you ever found yourself in the same spot? What events trigger overconfidence for you?

Did you ever tried to limit your behavior or do you continue being aggressive with "weaker" players?

If you try to limit your aggressiveness induced by recent positive outcomes, what actions do you take? i.e. limit your bets, enter at the table with minimum stack, end your session, maintain your VPIP/PFR, etc.

This aspect I feel is not enough discussed by the players.
Let me know what you think as well.

Thank you!
