I've played a lot of online poker. Sometimes hands will come up where I'll be like "what was he thinking? haha" or "wow that is really ******ed of him". Today I was considering the possibility that some of my opponents online might be mentally challenged in real life.

It doesnt seem out of the question that some players with learning or thinking disabilities manage to bumble money online and try their luck at poker. Sure, many smart people are very very bad at poker, but I submit that many ******ed people would be generally a lot worse.

If you knew that bartman111 across the table online was infact a ****** either by birth or from something happening to him during his life, would you still play him and win his money?

I dont think I would at 2/4nl. But if he were playing 5/10nl I think I would.

I myself have a physical handicap (cerbral palsy) but many people stupidly asume I am mentally handicapped as well. When I play live poker I take full adbantage of people's misconceptions and even try to add to them when I 1st sit down. The 1st thing I do is make a mess taking my chips outta the rack and make a show of restacking them very slowly, Thhen I proceed to show down as cheaply as possible a real crappy hand smiling the whole way. I then use people's perceptions about me against them by reacting semmingly obviously to the board cards.

An example is in my 1st round after sitting down I got involved in a hand with the nut flush draw against an obvious overpair... Onthe river I missed my flush but the river also put a 4 straight on the board.. I got so excited to bet my "made straight" I knocked over my chips which i had JUST finished restackiing.. she insta-mucked her KK face up and I took in a $30 2-4 pot

So the moral of the story is: If they are your table take thier $$$. Let the casino or poker site decide who can play and who can't
